Personality: She’s a kind soul with a bright path ahead of her, glowing ideas, and constant smiles and kindness for others. Soleil wants nothing but the best for herself and everyone else and she seeks to share this quiet joy in her heart with the realms. So many people seem to be doing things that harm others. Sol hates that she can’t help every single person, but that doesn’t mean she’s not going to try. She is deeply determined to show others the joy that can be found in the little things, and whether she is showing off her glow for the youngest opelles or chasing after the most dangerous monsters to keep them away from civilization, Sol is always doing something to help. Perhaps a bit too much in fact - she’s exhausted inside from everything she’s doing, but doesn’t want to tell anyone, doesn’t want to bother anyone. Soleil is there to help the worlds, and the worlds owe her nothing back. It’s a wonder she’s surviving on so little sleep.

5 Likes: Light, peace, anything shiny, deep conversations, resting by a fire after a long day

5 Dislikes: the dark, being lost, water, criticism, losing

Are they offensive or defensive?: Soleil is very much a defensive wizard, preferring to support her allies in a battle rather than attack herself. If those she’s fighting alongside aren’t protected she sees it as her fault. The most important thing is that everyone stays safe, after all. If Sol is alone, however, she’ll turn up her glow to the top end to try and blind the enemy while she casts spells from the charm around one paw. She also keeps a simple sword on her when the danger gets to close for only spells. But in the end, she’s going to fight to protect others, not to win glory for herself or to seek treasure.

What environment do they come from?;; Sunglow’s cities were Soleil’s beginning.

Their philosophy/a phrase that describes them;; Always seek the best version of yourself.

What element are they most associated with?;; Light and fire - she shines both in outward ways and in her kind personality.

Who or what is their closest companion?: “I really do wish I had a good friend,” Soleil might tell you if you talk with her and she’s in a melancholy mood. She’s fairly solitary, never having found anyone else willing to join her on her adventure of spreading good will to the world. So for now the glowing opelle is a simple wanderer, with a hope that one day she’ll find a friend or a creature to come along on her travels. The closest thing she keeps with her is her simple pendant, a gift from the parents she’s never actually known. She uses it to channel spells and is almost never seen without it.

What is their ideal time of day?;; Whenever the sun is in the sky is good with her!

Do they like or dislike the void realm?;; Soleil wishes she didn’t have to head out into the void realm to hop realms. The darkness, the overbearing gloom of it all is so unlike what Sol enjoys that her runs through the void are short, few, and far between. Whenever she does have to jump through the shadowy place, she makes sure she’s glowing as brightly as she’s able, to try and chase away the dark. It’s an unfortunate reality of being an opelle, and she tolerates it, doesn’t really bring it up with anyone else - though it’s very obvious she doesn’t like it if you’re there with her in the void when she goes there.

What element do they favor and why do they have such an affinity?: Light is Soleil’s element of choice. She has a natural affinity to the element with the natural bright glow she was born with, and she’s worked on honing her skills in that element her whole life. There’s something very special about being able to easily chase away the dark of night or heal an ailing friend. It may not be all that offensive but Sol isn’t an offensive opelle anyway. Secondarily, she has the fire element practiced quite well! It’s a solid way to attack if she’s on her own, even though it might not be the best element of hers it’s good to be able to fight back in a challenging situation.

How do they feel about book study?: It’s a good way to learn, so if she has to sit down and read for a while to understand some more things, she’ll do it! However, she tends to be a bit restless, always hoping to get back out into the world and keep fighting the good fight, and because if this she tries to read what she needs to as quickly as possible.

How do they deal with failure?: Fairly poorly. Sol is very hard on herself, always demanding she does practically perfectly in all her endeavors. When she fails, she won’t stop trying again until she gets it right, or, if that is no longer an option, she'll go away on her own for a bit and try to understand what went wrong.

Are they calm and patient or rather hotheaded and reckless?;; Soleil is quite calm when it comes to almost everything she does. She is, at her heart, a very peaceful opelle. When she gets a bit more stressed she can make bad decisions, but she knows that quick choices take her nowhere. So she makes sure to keep calm, as that is always the way to victory.

Where did they learn what they know about being a sorcerer?;; She learned the basics of magic from a quiet wolf near Silvarum’s vast ocean. Weeja was a keeper of storms, a winged canine who could move the winds and the clouds themselves, and Soleil spent some time with her, just listening and trying to understand how the strange art of casting spells worked. Weeja was the one that showed her that her bracelet could help her cast more powerful magic, Weeja taught her all the basics - but when the time came, Sol had to go out into the worlds on her own. Everything beyond simple spells she’s taught herself, through reading them in books or just experimenting. Several hundred years help one learn anything they want to.

Do they respect magic and its power or see it as a tool to bend to their will?;; Magic is something important - something she values very deeply. Soleil realizes this one day in her youth when she sits on a cliff with the wise old Weeja and takes her magic too far. She wants to walk on the air itself, using literal beams of light to keep her way forward. There’s not a moment spent preparing - she simply hops forwards and before she can work things out in her favor she’s falling - oh my goodness she’s falling and there’s no way out of this is there -

Weeja catches her with a gust of wind and brings her back up to the cliffside safely. Sol is shaking, terrified, and Weeja lecturers her about recklessness for quite some time.

Soleil remembers this moment for a long time. She remembers how without understanding magic properly, there’s no way for it to work out in her favor. She remembers that it’s quite meaningful, and something she never wants to take for granted. It takes a long time but she thinks, especially now, that’s she’s getting better.

Magic is a gift she’s received to be able to help others. She appreciates that a little bit more every day. Perhaps soon she’ll be able to walk on light with enough practice, but she’ll appreciate what she can do instead of always looking up and up.

5 skills that help them with their tasks?;; Patience, intelligence, persistence, hope, determination

What sort of tool do they use to harness their magical power?;; Soleil’s bracelet is all she uses to cast her spells. It’s a simple gold chain with a sun symbol on the end, and it’s good for storing up extra magical power to use in difficult battles. She’s almost never seen without said pendant, to the point where people sometimes don’t know if it’s even possible to take it off.
