Obsessed with the idea of the beauty of plants and mother nature, Lotus couldn't help but get attached to his potted plants and flowers.
Nature was a truly beautiful thing. And so was silence at times.
Lotus Snow had always felt a connection with nature and had always appreciated it's beauty. Call him overly dedicated to flowers or plants, and he'll probably take it as a compliment. Lotus didn't grow up with the best familial conditions. His parents usually were never home and he was always expected to take care of everything by himself since youth. It didn't help with the fact that he was pretty much a loner that kept to himself. Which in end it just led to him having an odd obsession with gardening.
He isn't the most social of the bunch, but neither is he a complete recluse. He likes chatting with people once in a while, but he prefers gardening over anything. Lotus isn't the type to openly trust everyone, he's set up several walls that's pretty hard to break if anyone tries to be his friend.

Quiet --> He's not the most chattery person at there. And the farthest thing from a chatterbox. Being antisocial already, he doesn't meet a lot of people so he doesn't like talking even when he does.
Judgemental --> He silently judges everything and everyone. If you manage to get him to hate you, he won't even bother pretending you exist. It's just a lot of silent spite.

Jewel Daphne
[ lover ] "I'm not lying when I saw Jewel's way too sweet for me in a metaphorical and literal sense." Jewel is Lotus' lover. They may have contrasting tastes in foods, but the two, both sharing a common interest of plants, get along together rather well. His love for Jewel comes close to rivaling his love for plants... he's confused himself on which one he likes better at this point.
Calus 'Fran' Falle
[ acquaintance ] "I see him a lot when I'm tending to the plants in Ms.Falle's garden." Fran is the nephew of Lotus' boss. He personally doesn't know Fran too well, just through one-sided chats and gossip that the other won't stop talking about.
