About

Fog shrouds both the ground and sky, but walking through the lily-and-amaranth-populated meadows leads to Enon, a tower-like tree. The dead rest atop the tree, its leaves, and not a living soul dares step onto Enon's holy lands uninvited. Instead, the deities inhabit it, neither living or dead, alongside their attendants if they have them. However, they keep a secret from Neegavia's peoples: A young lady dwells inside Enon. She breathes like any other, but her eyes resemble the Creator's. The Creator, known to eschew all mortal activities and an unbiased entity, could not possibly have a child... right?

Vega Soffia Tezcacoatl is the daughter of the Creator. She exists to experience life's breadth and nothing more, and no one expects her to accomplish anyone's ulterior motives. This fact stopped any vacationing she may have desired, instead stuck inside Enon until she reached 18, for Neegavia's current political state lent each of its kingdom's leaders to seek an upper advantage. With the Serian Kingdom and Koyo Theocracy creating beasts and the mortal-led Riavelon League too unpredictable, her caretakers hid her, but this all changed when she turned 17. Forced to roam more worldly lands, Vega carves out her destiny and fights for the people, hoping to protect as many lives as possible.

  • Current design inspo taken from Legendary Seliph's design in Fire Emblem Heroes.
  • Lack of bangs & spike at the top is meant to make her resemble her father, while the wavy ends are to resemble her cennend's past appearance.
  • Face meant to resemble her father's almost exactly. I usually elect to draw them with the same face for that reason.
  • Mole beneath her left eye absolutely necessary and cannot be omitted. This signifies her Tezcacoatl lineage and connection to her father.
  • Nose scar harkens back to his old design, Aix.
  • Meant to look feminine in a masculine way. Bifauxnen, if you will.

Vega usually reacts in socially-acceptable ways, but when faced with possible rejection or loss, she loses it. Whenever younger, he blew up on Stellar and co. when they slightly criticized him. [NGVA: Solipsism spoilers inside]

Furthermore, he remained depressed for a few years after his cennend fell into a magic-overperformance coma, the last he interacted with them at the tender age of 9.
He tends to hold grudges, not desiring to interact with whoever she perceives to have rejected her before. One could call this him protecting himself with social walls, yet this way of dealing with problems spreads to those who made a minor misstep overall. Certainly, it makes holding relationships with Vega more difficult, but his loyalty knows no bounds.

Friendship means the world to Vega, although she struggles to communicate. Often, she states the first thing she thinks to any potential friends, which can be catastrophic if it is, say, "Nice smell! What perfume did you use?" This extends to laughing at inappropriate times, since everything seems to make him laugh. Her father tried to minimize such disasters, although some weird things still slip from his mouth every now and then. Moreover, Vega may go overboard and begin overthinking his responses, leading to some pretentious response like, "T is such a nice day the present day, is't not? alloweth us wend to the markets and purchaseth thee a wondrous gift!" Regardless, she tries her best, and hopefully, others see that. Unfortunately, such behavior sometimes discomforts others, and this can cause him to hide from people for several days because of self-loathing.

The little lady has plenty he wants to accomplish, such as becoming the best artist possible, winning a melee tourney, or trying her best to joust. Whatever catches her attention some point, Vega wants to become the best. It gets harder when he sees others doing better, having horrible imposter syndrome, but his ambition ramps up again and leads him to chase after what short-lived dreams he has. His ambition spreads to exploration, and he wants to see as many places as possible, to his father's worries. Still, with mask in tow, Vega hides his identity and tries not to attract too much attention, although sometimes he fails spectacularly and has to flee. After reuniting with his brother, his wanderlust grew as he visited areas all across Mamtir, and although studying at the Nohseyrnas Royal Academy, he wants to return to the roads and travel like Chigai. Additionally, when she can return to Neegavia, she wants to see every place talked about by Stellar.

Finally, Vega suffers from anxiety. Quite obvious from the above information, her anxiety leads him struggling to balance action and inaction. On one hand, it may shut his mouth when he needs to speak, stemming from a past mistake. Contrarily, he may be so anxious that the words spilling out may worsen his situation. [NGVA: Solipsism spoilers inside]

This originates from feeling responsible for her cennend's current state, irrational as it may be. He attributes his constant 'misbehavior' (he was nine and under) and his cennend's constant magic use to correct the outcomes as the reason why they were comatose. After learning the true reason, Vega felt relieved, but it did not get rid of their anxiety as it had already developed. Moreover, those old feelings transferred to Vega's current situation: Being unable to protect his cennend from harm. These feelings of inadequacy worsened when she learned her father's fate from his spirit, so much so that she ended up losing it against the individual spawned from his blood, Hikaru, and his murderer, Wolfgang. Despite his revival, Vega's self-hatred remained only because she wanted to prevent it in the first case (she was nowhere near Nohseyrnas at the time, in fact captured).
All-in-all, it all boils down to being unable to strike a balance. Past events circle in his head as he thinks of ways he could have handled them better, and it only worsens her mental state. Wanting to redo it all, he sometimes falls into slumps knowing that to be impossible. Vega has those surrounding her to support her, however, her most fervent supporters being Chigai and her father.

Likes

Monad Lilies

Not only are they pretty, Vega has fond memories regarding them. She used to pick them with her cennend when she was younger and loved putting them in xir hair, to which they remarked made them resemble xir older appearance. She also liked putting them in her father's hair to his amusement. [NGVA: Solipsism spoilers inside]

Nowadays, Vega takes lily wreathes and rests them around his cennend's body within xir capsule.

Getting his hair touched

Very specific, but it harkens back to his childhood again. Vega's father had the habit of ruffling or stroking her hair when she returned from picking lilies or whenever she showed him one of her pictures. Her cennend was very meticulous in how xe took care of her hair, steadfast in brushing it whenever 'morning' and 'night' would be. It makes sense, such grooming commonplace among saeol culture, but it stands out only because her cennend is not a true saeol. Perhaps, this liking for self-hygiene spread to the species resembling their mortal visage. Nevertheless, Vega loved the attention and social time it provided, and she carried it with her to Stellar and Darce. Particularly, she liked trying to do Darce's ponytail by herself. The practice then spread to her wanting to take care of her brother's hair, too! It all came to a head when her father stroked her hair after a long time, where her grin stayed until the next morning.

Drawing

It gives Vega something to do when she cannot decide on what she wants, like if she should play chess with Stellar or ask Darce to tell her stories. She mainly depicted landscapes, although they were never varied in subject; she always drew Enon Meadows. Though, he remembers his cennend once giving him a picturebook filled with landscapes to doodle. Sketchbooks, filled to the brim, lay stacked upon her dresser. Embarrassment fills him when his father or anyone else asks to pore through them, yet he shows them anyway. Soon, Vega moved onto people, drawing those in her life to the best of his ability. He did stop for a time because his father asked why the people were never as picturesque as her landscapes, but he eventually continued. Something Vega continuously tries to draw is what she thinks her dragon form would look like. Armed with the knowledge of how it looks, now, he thinks he was pretty close.

Stargazing

A recent development, but it stems from Vega feeling accompanied by her cennend wherever she goes. Not to mention, the stars above are fun to draw!

Dislikes

Being short

Minor overall, but it worsens Vega's feelings of inadequacy. It makes him feel significant in the vast scheme of things, not tall enough to make his opponents cower. As a matter of fact, some people even mistake him for being a young child. Meeting his brother mitigated the negativity but failed to eliminate it.

Math

Something about the concept does not click to Vega. Even with Stellar's help, an absolute whiz at it, she has no idea why multiplication comes before division (they have equal priority, actually) or what to do with exponents. He wants to stick with the basics: Addition and subtraction, yet he pursues bettering his knowledge despite his misgivings. His skills improved thanks to tutors present at the Nohseyrn Royal Academy, to which he is gracious, but compared to his talents in the humanities, he still struggles a lot with logic. At least, he does not have to deal with Discrete Math!

Bugs

Lucky's butterfly cape was cool, so much so that Vega wanted to see them in real life. When he got his chance, he was so grossed out he never wanted to see a butterfly ever again. An overreaction for certain, but their multiple legs and strange eyes freak her out. If he sees an ant crawling on his arm, he will scream and wave his arms about, and if she notices one crawling on her textbook, he will flee the area. Let us not get started on arachnids, which causes him to stay away from areas for days at a time, all because he can never know when they have truly disappeared.

Long talons

It just so happens that Vega likes wearing gloves, and long talons get in the way of that. In day-to-day life when she's not wearing gloves, she notices they get in the way of easy tasks such as drawing or playing chess, for she has to correct her hand position without dropping or knocking over things. She also pricks people with them because they grow so sharp, and she has not mastered being gentle in her touch. Sure, they offer better grip, and one can make them look gorgeous, but the effort is simply not worth it to her. Thus, Vega keeps her talons much shorter than most saeols.

Assorted Tidbits

Achamoth

A water spell Vega worked on for a few months with help from his father. One freezes moisture into a massive icicle, to which when it hits an opponent, it explodes and hits whatever enemies are in range. Achamoth is difficult to master but highly-effective in combat.

Fimbulvetr

The tome got into his possession during the Wolfgangian war, given to her by her father's spirit. His brother's mother, Wrym, formerly owned the tome. It cast powerful ice magic and helped him shatter the magical crystals protecting Hikaru. He no longer has it, having returned it to her father for safekeeping. With the future in mind, Vega may need it again.

Dragon Form

For most of his life, Vega was unable to assume this form because of the pain transformation put her through. She was able to semi-transform, sprouting wings on his back and arms, but horrible sensation of eyes bulging from her chest and two tails ripping through her back discouraged her from trying it more. Eventually, she was able to weather the pain and properly assume it, albeit for a short period. Not her favorite form to take, Vega fights as a humanoid if she can help it.

Scale-and-feather growth

Vega seldom wears tanktops or anything with the back cut-out, but when he does, one can see scales and feathers bunched around her shoulderblades. This is an uncommon occurrence, seeing how dreitol should only develop scales in their human forms when they grow old, but saeols may have feathers growing anywhere randomly. Most likely, the genes for these mingled in such a way that she had early scale growth.

Hair

Every saeol is born with white hair which darkens with light magic usage. When he used to train with his cennend, xe often focused on light magic as opposed to other types, hence Vega's silver hair currently. She started using it again during Mamtir's War of Light, as it was paramount in clearing out specters haunting the lands. Other than that, she does not use it often.

Fangs

Her dreitol genes surface in certain places, specifically her slit pupils and fangs. Interestingly enough, like her scales and feathers, her saeol genes mingle with her teeth and make her canines razor sharp. In addition to that, her neighboring incisors are sharper as a result.

The Beginning

Vega was born in Nohseyrnas Castle, earlier than expected; he did not cry when born, which worried the few onlookers present. She stayed in the castle for a few months, ensuring her health and development, yet no one involved in her birth spoke a word of it to anyone else. Eventually, Extol came to collect Vega, the infant not remembering much about her time living in the castle. However, there was one memory that stood out to her the most: A lake, with a grand building sitting across from it, the stars burning above. Years later, her father told her it was the church the people made to worship him, as he was a man of great magical prowess. That church served as one reason why Vega wanted to return to Mamtir, for she imagined the intricate halls, marble columns, glass murals, and melodious choir. Maybe not all that; she had no previous experience to base his thoughts off, after all. However, if the choir sang as well as his cennend, it would be worth it.

A rambunctious child, Vega's days consisted of running around Enon Meadows, spinning around and tumbling into lilies. Pollen covering her every inch, she fled to her cennend for a bath, giggling while holding a bunch of flowers. Sometimes, she wandered too far and had to be retrieved by her cennend or an Acolyte; whoever it was sat her down and told her not to repeat herself. Too much fun was to be had though, so the talk happened multiple times. It became too much at some point, so someone always watched the little girl, ensuring her safety. To wander past the meadows meant death. Clueless, Vega cried and complained before realizing its futility, and soon enough, he grew used to the attention. He came to love it, seeing it as an excuse to talk whoever-was-watching-him's ears off.

Like any other child, he wanted to learn more about the world, everything beyond Enon and its fields. Vega always brought up his one infant memory and used it to prove the existence of things beyond her foggy home, and her cennend eventually described some places brightening her imagination. Xe discussed sprawling caves, glimmering crystals covering the walls, and giant forests with shadow and light scarring their grounds. Large mountains pointing toward the skies with grand castles, snow coating their tops, and canyons bordered by orange plateaus, hiding civilizations beneath, only scratched the surface of what xe told her. How his cennend spoke of most places was with pride, pride for xir personal creations and what resulted from the people living within. Memories muddling because of sorrow, Stellar reminded Vega of what lay beyond the tree and its surrounding towers, and xe filled him with wanderlust yet again.

Above all else, however, Vega wanted to stay close to his cennend. Call him especially needy, but he liked hearing their voice and being picked up by them. The world shrunk when xe cradled him, xir eyes all the more starry. When Vega started school under Alternity's tutelage, he always reported to cennend as soon as Alternity gave his results back. They always asked for xir permission to do anything, a far cry from xir impulsivity early on in his life. When she drew something, the first person she showed it to was his cennend, eager to seek their feedback and approval. He recalled xem never judging her for anything, but always being fair and honest.

[NGVA: Solipsism spoilers inside!]

These happy days could not last forever, however. Alternity woke a nine-year-old Vega early one day to tell her that she would not speak to her cennend again in some time, and when she asked why, Alternity led her to Ogdoad. Ogdoad, Enon's apex, was where the Creator rested comatose inside a capsule. The Acolytes intended for the capsule to speed up their lord's recovery, but it still took a long time for them to even dream. Vega, horrified and crestfallen, rushed back to her room and wept under his sheets. He survived off left-over snacks in his room for the next couple days and refused to open the door for anyone, growing furious if anyone tried to persuade her. After a week, her foodsupply running low, Vega relented and let others see her again. Darce, in particular, was warm toward her and understanding, and he tried to help him in any way possible.

Firsts

[NGVA: Solipsism spoilers inside!]

Vega was on edge as a tween and as a young teen, less confident in herself because she had none of his cennend's feedback. Darce, Saturn, and even Alternity tried their best to be helpful to her, but she seemed to get mad about every little thing, minor quips being taken as full-on rejection. It was only until Stellar noticed how isolated she was becoming and the light deity putting aside xir bitterness to try and bridge the gap. Xe was exceedingly gentle and careful with what she said and did, and over time, Vega coped with her trauma. Xir sensitivity, paired with Darce's friendliness, made Vega see the two as sibling-figures; he had no other family living with him, after all. He soon returned to his excitable self, and instead of avoiding Ogdoad, actively went up there to leave lilies on his cennend.

An attempt Vega made to further recover was to pick up new hobbies; she tried singing but quickly discovered her lack of talent. Then, following in her father's footsteps, he picked up a practice blade and asked Darce to spar with her every other day. Vega learned how to fistfight, something Stellar knew from xir time in mainland Koyo, and he practices it every now and then in the present. Furthermore, Vega tried writing her own spells, aided by her father in creating a powerful one called Achamoth. She never tried again because of how long it took and the thought process behind writing the instructions. He tried dancing, discovering his two left feet but having too much fun to care. Light shows were another thing Vega attempted, bewildered when he learned of their complexity and need for high magical talent. Finally, he started reading books; they took him a few weeks because the words eventually blended together into one inconceivable mess if he read them for hours. Happy about his child's development, her father tried involving himself in her interests whenever he visited; their book interests varied wildly, Fafnir discovered.

Many books, gifts from her father, stacked in her room's shelves, gathered dust as Vega could not read all of them. She appreciated his gestures, of course, but she simply could not muster up the focus to pay attention to them. It bothered her to leave them like that, though, so she tried her best to get through all of them. The politics went over Vega's head, not exactly aware of the civilizations outside of Enon, let alone in Mamtir, but she liked it! Some sections of these books bored her to death, however, leaving some of her father's gifts to be left on the backburner for months or never to be finished. When he visited, Vega discussed the themes and topics of his gifts to see the smile on his face, and then she asked him to play chess with her. Vega picked up chess from Stellar, who was a master, and she was steadily improving. Her father caught her off-guard by how good of a player he was himself, the two now having common ground to stand on. Of course, this all happened when she was around sixteen; previously, she avoided her father.

As for time spent with the Acolytes, Vega hung out with Darce and Stellar, Lucky sometimes tagging along. Random assortments of topics came up between them, but Vega, ever the curious one, asked what else Neegavia had in store. Darce brought up his time in the Kingdom of Serias, how most lived underground and traversed through tunnels, while Stellar rambled about Koyo, both Northern and the mainland. The streetvendors xe interacted with in the mainland were kind, offering her free samples of foods and other goods, while the fishermen and lumberjacks up north expounded upon their trades to xem. Stellar spoke at length how xe found it difficult fishing and how jealous xe was of the fishermen, and Vega laughed and said it sounded easier than xe made it out to be. The two made a dare: When Vega finally left Enon, she would try it herself or lose out on free melon pops.

[MAJOR NGVA: Solipsism spoilers inside!]

[This is your last chance to turn back.]

Time passed fast, as it was coming up to Vega's 17th birthday. She had dinner with her father and danced with Stellar and Darce, bothered Alternity about her work and listened to Saturn's unique tunes. Someone important was missing, she realized. Stellar came with Vega to Ogdoad to pay his cennend a visit, lilies tight in her grip. Neither heard the commotion a few floors down, or how these random guests went into the Acolytes' rooms. They were not guests; they were intruders. When the doors opened, Stellar nor Vega gasped, for they assumed it to be Darce or someone else. Instead, Stellar screamed when xe identified one of their faces, an enby xe had spoken to before...

The duo came face-to-face with Sirius' party; once Sirius parsed the Creator's state, rage overtook them. For most of their life, they wondered why the Creator remained inactive in the global theatre, instead allowing the deities to wreak havoc upon mortals. Given the answer, they made a fateful decision: Take that power for themselves and rectify the world themself. His intentions known, Vega ignored Stellar's pleas to run and instead engaged Sirius head-on, a suicide battle, if one will. Sirius, empowered by all five circlets and wielding Gram, mortally injured Vega and left several scars, including the one on her face. Horrified, Stellar healed Vega to a living state and then threw her out the tree, deciding to fight Sirius and his allies xemself. Vega plummeted off Enon, only to be rescued by Eulogy, who was terrified at Sirius and disgusted with herself for allowing one to gain such power in the first place.

One rough landing later, Eulogy met with Lady Saturn while holding Vega in her arms, who recognized her from a previous Nio Charm visit. The two agreed to carry Vega to Sige's apex, alongside party members who chose to stand against Sirius. Vega came to and started fighting alongside everyone else, now protecting themselves from Samael's furious onslaught. He inquired Saturn about Darce's location, and she replied he was obtaining some things for him from Psyche. Satisfied, Vega and everyone else ventured to Sige's top, where they reached Gnitaheath. Confused at first, when Saturn told her that was why her cennend was comatose, Vega stood there in silence. She then asked for everyone to follow her, with Saturn replying its infeasibility. He demanded the reason, and Saturn told her about the Eternal Recurrence, how he would be the only one to remember this all occurred and how Sirius only expediated the universe's recreation. Deeply horrified and upset, Vega backed away from Lady Saturn and later Darce when he descended to give her the Prisms, and she asked what the point was if nothing mattered in the first place. Then, Vega realized by keeping the prisms, he could restore them afterward and plan out how to stop the Recurrence once and for all. The other party members also said that they would find a way to stop it themselves, even despite its impossibility.

Thus, Vega tearfully left and went through the gate, and Saturn, Darce, and Alternity closed it, sealing their fates. Mask fixed onto her face, prisms close to her, the girl held to himself proof of his bonds. With the task ahead of her so mountainous, Vega feared the worst, but at the same time, he wanted to save everyone. However, he would first need to learn the intricacies of societies all over, examine the people living in them, and discover the depths of mortal conscious. Since he lived isolated from the world for so long, Vega would struggle, but her determination kept her moving forward.

Alpha

When Vega landed on Mamtir, she stood surrounded by vast meadows with no buildings in sight. A few trees speckled the horizon, and not a single cloud blotted the sun's radiance. With not even a sword as equipment, Vega relied on his pneuma to protect himself. His divine blood ensured he would not starve to death if he found nothing to eat, but he would begin to feel nauseous if he went too long without food. One thing was clear: He could not afford to stay in the same location, so he trekked west in hopes of finding civilization. That only deepened the rut he dug himself into; Nohseyrnas was to the east. He landed in Farynn, currently led by the mad sorcerer Sullivan who subjugated his people and reveled in dark magic.

Exhaustion taking its hold, walking for so long, Vega had lost count of the time, he discovered a decrepit structure. Collapsed onto one of its sides, the stars gleaming above, she examined the area. Large pillars shot from the roofs of the building, the bricks white and engraved, and when he wandered to its entrance, a rusty gate taller than any door she had seen blocked the entrance. The area surrounding looked like smaller buildings to pair with the main one; Vega's imagination blossomed. A castle, like her father described! He found somewhere to stay, so she retreated to a dark corner and lay there, gazing at the stars and hoping nothing would come to bother her. Never mind the cobwebs hanging between the gates' bars or the fog swirling around the pillars, Vega had no choice. Besides, he liked the fog; it reminded him of Enon Meadows. Vega chose to ignore the singed, green carpets and the flame-bitten violet banners too; after all, it seemed like no one had been here for a while. That place looked long abandoned after what tragedy befell it.

Early Vega awoke, for footsteps rung aloud. He made a misjudgment; the place would not be free of visitors. Heels dug into the dilapidated foundation, Vega gripped her mask and afixed it onto his face, then he stood under the shadows. His first fight, potentially; the breeze wiggled her hair as his breathing quickened. Unable to handle the suspense, Vega said, "Should I go NORTH?" to catch these other peoples' attention. Outside the shade, Vega locked eyes with her company, who pointed his blade at her. She could avoid a sword no problem, just nail him in the face and knock him out. Then, she noticed the woman behind and the man beside him, the woman in green and the man tall and regal. Her opponent looked regal too, his hair well-kempt and his clothes vibrant. His cape reminded Vega of his father.

Vega shivered. His blue-hair and pointy ears discomforted her, but his gaze canceled that out. Something about him seemed familiar in both bad and good ways, so he held his fists up as the other said, "Who are you?"

"...who am I?" Vega said. She stared, but the man had no idea.

"Answer the question!"

"I searched for somewhere to stay, since I'm lost and lack a map. I thought I'd take shelter here, since I believed it to be abandoned. If I must depart, so be it. I desire no violence." Vega imitated her father, thinking it wise. That man was the first outsider she ever spoke to, and she was unaware of their relationship to each other. Fate, as one might say, had a hand in their meeting.

The man's voice quavered, his eyes widened. "Your speech, it reminds me of someone. Are you a part of the nobility?"

Uh oh. "Um, no!"

He laughed. "There isn't a need to hide it; the fact you aren't affiliated with Sullivan in any way eases us. Your clothes make it quite obvious." Hand lifted to his face as he gasped, he said, "Oh! Allow me to introduce myself! I'm Chigai, of Nohseyrnas. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Hesitantly, Vega said, "I'm Veg—Vee, but Vega is my full name. I prefer Vee, though." Her real name would not ignite any suspicion, she thought. Many people could have that name. Although, she realized he already knew she was a noble, and as the only child of King Fafnir, perhaps she outed herself. "Actually, my name isn't that at all, it's—"

"Hmm, I haven't heard of any nobility named that. I suppose I should brush up on my knowledge!" he chuckled. "You have gotten yourself into a difficult situation, however. You should come with us; that way, we can protect you."

Like that, Vega became a part of the Ensomue Mercenaries, led by Gratia Aveline Yggdrasil. She counted her blessings because her father must have kept her a secret from everyone else, but then... she was his only heir. Perhaps, he rid the public of its worries or something. That made sense; he was good with his words. Then again, that Chigai had a mole under his left eye, and she knew that she inherited hers from her father. Anyone could have a mole like that, however, so she brushed the thought out of her mind. It bothered her, though, yet she carried the burden.

Next on the docket was figuring out what to do at this castle. A dark wall blocked their path, one she failed to notice since it was night. She had no idea what to expect, but Chigai using light magic was not one of them. Despite the light, the wall remained, so she decided to assist him with her own. A made-up cantation in her head prepared (to give off the idea she memorized a tome), she recited it while holding her hands toward the wall alongside her assistance. Afterward, they fought off a possessed Winrich's phantom squadron and cleared him from the area.

Vega better acquainted himself with the Ensomue Mercenaries, getting to know Juniper (the woman earlier), Prince Hadrian (the man earlier), Lady Gratia, Garynn, Basilisk, Waldhar, and Aiji. However, what bothered her was the light magic, so she questioned Chigai about it. He told her that his father taught him. When he finally left, Vega came out and asked everyone else who exactly that man was, and Waldhar told her he was 'the prince of dragon people.' She also got some weird looks, as if that were not the most obvious fact in the world. Vega asked him to clarify, and he told her the full extent: Chigai was the crown prince of Nohseyrnas, son to King Fafnir.

Vega gave the illusion of taking it well, as if just learning a new thing for the first time. Once Chigai returned, Vega teased him by calling him 'princeboy', but in the end... well, she did not sleep well that night. She felt sick, knowing that man was falsifying his identity; Vega was the true heir! Meant to come to Mamtir and ascend the throne, that man's existence would scandalize and perhaps jeopardize Vega's chances. The way he had the mole to further his claims, too, further nauseated Vega. Furthermore, Vega could not leave the Ensomue Mercenaries, let alone make surviving a living hell. She hid this secret and planned on how to deal with the situation.

Extol Tezcacoatl

cennend

[NGVA: Solipsism spoilers inside]

Relatively, Vega did not know Extol well. They raised her up until the age of 9, when xe made the fateful decision to create Gnitaheath, a gate leading to Mamtir to guarantee Vega's safety. However, nobody told Vega of the gate's existence and left her to speculate as to why her cennend was now comatose, all out of worry that she may wander into there accidentally. Despite not knowing xem too well, Vega's fond memories persist, for she recalls the days spent lily-picking and practicing light magic with them. For his life up until leaving Enon, he hardly questioned xir actions at all.

This changed once forced to leave Enon, when Alternity revealed to her why Gnitaheath existed: As the begotten child of the Creator, rather than someone originating from their pneuma, Vega would not be subject to the eternal recurrence. Over everyone else, she would live a continuous life for what may possibly be eternity, whereas for both gods and mortals alike, they lived in a loop. The eternal recurrence happens at all because of collective regret, something blooming in Vega himself. He has mulled over redoing things in his head all the time, just like anyone else, but to be able to push aside those thoughts and live life to its fullest proves incredibly difficult to achieve. Overall, subject to the horror of 'outliving' Enon's inhabitants and knowing that in the future, she may not even be able to speak with the cennend she once knew, Vega started resenting her cennend. Why would xe even think of putting her through this horror?

Vega started feeling pressured to do something about the problem, but knowing its constancy and complexity, he shuddered. One cannot simply solve this collective regret as an outsider; it must be worked on by those suffering it. As he feels the exact same, perhaps working on himself will be the first step. For the rest, he figures he needs to actually interact with people outside of his sphere and know why they feel that way. To help lift people up and make them want to improve themselves became his most fervent wish.

Was that why she was born? No, of course not; Extol wanted Vega to live. He did not expect his child to take on such an impossible task, but Vega has determination. Her resentment faded over time, and only melancholy dominates her feelings regarding her cennend. At the end, she wants them to be able to live, too.

Fafnir Tezcacoatl

father

Vega seldom saw Fafnir in her youth, but when it happened, she celebrated it. So excited, he paid him all the attention in the world, oblivious to anyone else nearby. Fafnir used to tell her stories about Mamtir and vague tales of his life ruling Nohseyrnas, and she ate them up. It became a pattern, so much so that he began telling her them without her even needing to ask. Between those visits, he grew impatient and begged his cennend to make him come see her more, although there was no noticeable change during this period.

[NGVA: Solipsism spoilers inside]

The young lady started seeing Fafnir more after Extol fell comatose, for he became the only parental figure in his life. Still, it was never enough to fill the gap. Coupled with teenage hormones cropping up, her relationship to her father took a hit. One may consider it an overreaction, because she stopped talking to him at all whenever he visited and instead locked her room and hid. He instead buried himself into his drawing books constantly, even inaccessible to Stellar and Darce sometimes. The duo always explained to Fafnir she would not be seeing him anytime soon, but he could instead accompany them on supply runs. When Vega needed to leave her room, she always saw a goodie bag with a handwritten note from her father inside.

That cold and distant period began to thaw by her 16th birthday, where she graciously accepted a eye mask from her father. Beforehand, she had her more bright periods with Stellar and Darce, but she still avoided Fafnir at all costs. Now, Vega begged him to teach him swordplay, and he was happy to oblige. Her Mamtir inquiries grew more fervent by the day, however, and he had to start making excuses as to why the trip would be infeasible. To make up for it, he started bringing her keepsakes, which she then kept all over her room.

A few days before her 17th birthday, Fafnir visited to make up for the fact he could not come the day of. They enjoyed a cake and discussed the future, Vega insisting on visiting Mamtir and her father deflecting it with different topics. Eventually, they agreed Vega would visit on her 18th, and Fafnir left. That was the last she saw him in Enon, being forced to go early under horrific circumstances. Clueless to the true reason, Fafnir believes Vega's falsified account to this day. It grows harder trying to prevent him from checking up on her cennend, though, with her points starting to fall apart.

The next she heard of her father, it was from Chigai, who she had no idea was her half-brother back then. She heard he was the crown prince of Nohseyrnas, or in Waldhar's words, "the Prince of Dragon people." Vega obviously knew she was Fafnir's only child and that she had never stepped a foot on Mamtirean soil, so Chigai must clearly be an imposter, right? It turns out her parents actually kept another secret from her: Her older half-brother (by two years, but he had technically existed for a milennia by that point.) Her opinion regarding Fafnir soured, her bitterness dissipating only a few moments afterward once Chigai told her he was kidnapped. Fear filled her, and she struggled to sleep.

After a nightmarish few months, discovering Wolfgang's men had split Fafnir's soul into five and imbued it into weapons, while also creating a child with his genes, Vega and the rest of the party arrived at a temple. Her brother made it outside, and she followed in pursuit to catch him. What broke her was seeing her father's consciousness split from his soul, for he had long passed. Hesitantly, she took Fimbulvetr from him while desperately trying to keep it together, daring not to shed a tear. When Hikaru, the previously mentioned child, came to kill everyone, her sorrow turned to rage. Vega left them on the brink of death, forcing them to escape, while also dealing with the aftermath of his attack: Chigai had been burnt to ash. She met her father again and was convinced to bring her brother back to life after struggling to decide whether she should pick him or Fafnir.

Everyone arrived to Hikaru's domain, and a fight to save the world took place. Vega suffered fatal damage but was brought back to life with her brother's incredible healing magic, and they brought down Hikaru while also managing to resurrect Fafnir. That early 17th birthday celebration which he had come to accept as his last time seeing his father in the flesh would no longer have that designation, for he melted into a teary puddle while hugging his father tightly. The regret Vega harbored for mistreating him during his tween years started dissolving as he made it his goal to spend more time with his family. Chigai's travel habits cut their time together short.

Nowadays, Vega attends the Nohseyrnas Royal Academy, the same as his brother. She uses an alias and wears her mask, but it is said that her tuition is fully paid by the king himself. The most astute onlookers a part of her classes claim she carries himself like royalty, noting the way she speaks and the way he styles his hair. That is to say, it is evident Vega deeply respects her father and looks up to him.

Chigai Tezcacoatl

half-brother

She never knew of him when as a child. Some say it was to deter her from running away, others believe that it would have been pointless to inform her so early, for she would not have seen him for years anyway. In any case, when she first met him, she thought he was an imposter. She was the only Prince of Nohseyrnas, right? In those days, she saw herself as his rival, and eventually, she had enough of the man. She ran off, thinking that he might get his retribution sometime soon. However, the tides changed as he, with his party, rescued her from her captors. The misunderstanding cleared up, and Vega found herself as one of Chigai's closest allies. Once again, she sees herself as his rival and attempts to outdo him on everything, to his annoyance.

Stellar

older sibling figure

When their cennend could not be there for Vega, Stellar came to the rescue. They acted as a sort of nanny to Vega, trying their best to take care of her. Maybe they were why she ended up nothing like the rest of her family, for only the deities know how much of a disaster the Brightest Disciple was. Though they lacked the knowledge Extol had, Stellar tried their best to school her. She liked listening to Stellar, too. Sometimes, the Disciple would tell her stories about her adventures across Neegavia, and she would always be thrilled. Every time she needed to sleep, they would tell her another story, and daze off she did. Vega wonders how Stellar is doing back at home, nowadays.
