The red of Rouge's system is due to Serial Designation-J; in a moment of distraction, J was able to strike the rogue drone with a virus chip. Rouge pushed through the virus filling her system and struck her down, carelessly ripping out the bolt once the deed was done and causing damage that lingers even years later.

Because of the method used to remove the virus, it's left her with internal damage that seems to grow more frequent by the day. An attack can happen at random, but it usually happens when she's overstraining her systems, both physically or mentally. When under an attack and sent into this 'Malware State' as Blanc calls it, her visor will almost exclusively display static, with oil seeping from major points of her body, like the seam under her visor and her core. She seems to relive her worst memories when this happens.

In another life, Rouge was a happy, if not spoiled, drone under the care of an older couple working for JCJensen. Rouge wasn't considered a worker drone though, and was instead a beloved member of the family, treated as if she were their daughter. She'd often be seen with a high pony and summery dresses.

Unaware that their fellow shareholders would mock them behind their backs, Rouge's "parents" brought her with them to the Gala and expecting her to be welcomed as if she were their child, only to watch in horror as the young drone was forced outside by the Elliots. Unfamiliar with this kind of hostility, she shyly tried to find another way inside, only to find herself staring into the windows of the hall. She watched in horror at the other drones tearing through all the humans- and as her own family were pulled apart, the eldritch monster inside broke through the window, having finally realized she missed one.
