Tom(ato)

Samantha is more well-known as "Tomato" from a childhood nickname that stuck around. As a child, she would get so easily agitated that her face would turn bright red! It was a sight to see. Her mom hated the nickname but all of her friends would keep calling her "Tom" and "Tomato" and Samantha only encouraged it when she saw her mom's reactions.

Tom grew up in a fairly well-to-do area and for a long time, never realized her privilege because she thought she always had it rough watching her parents.  Tom used to be very close with her dad, Peter, but she blamed her mom making him focus more on his career for him straying away. What made things harder for Tom was that her parents always pretended everything was okay. They pretended they agreed on how tonraise their kid, they pretended when money was tight, they pretended when they were fighting. But Tom could see it all.

Tomato was always a bit of a tomboy at heart but was forced into a very feminine role for her early years because of her mother. Her mother introduced her to her friend's kid, Sharlie, and they got along quickly because they were in similar situations with their families (both from well off families and parents with rocky relationships) and were both a bit on the rebellious side but only deepened it more within each other as they became closer, especially when things got harder at home. Tom would spend less and less time at home, always hanging out with Sharlie and Mel from school. They became very close snd were that way for years. But as they got older, situations changed, life got more complicated, and they drifted apart.

Tom never grew out of being a delinquent from her school days. She always wanted to be the toughest and win at everything. She always had something to prove. Despite her competitive spirit and her sportiness, even in school, she hated team sports because they are all about cooperation. She plays team sports to this day ONLY when she is forced to play, and she'll ignore the team and shine as she racks up the score by herself. She'd much prefer a one-on-one wrestling match any day!

Tom needed an outlet and started going to the gym. That's where she met Blue, who immediately welcomed her as one of the guys. This led to her passion for working out, frequenting the gym, finding something she could do on her own but still make friends without scaring them away. She became a personal trainer, still having some connections to her family's rich friends, and was able to support herself well in her new career path. 

While she isn't a great people person, she is great at motivating people to work out because of her passion and aggression. She's been threatened by her bosses to chill out a bit more a few times by her bosses though or else she'll be fired, so she tries to keep it a little more contained at work. She'd never admit it, but she often times gets attached to her clients after seeing them progress so far in their training, but she knows they don't often feel the same way about her because of how harsh she is. 

If you asked her about herself, she'd say there isn't much to know about her. She doesn't want people intruding into her business, so she doesn't talk about her home life much, so she'd just dismiss it and say that it's boring, which is true. All of the excitement in her life comes from sport.  She doesn't often show interest in much else except for maybe hanging and drinking with the guys. In the end, she just wants to show off some strength and kick some wimpy ass. People may say she has anger issues, but she says that some people just have a knack for getting on her nerves. So she'll teach them a lesson. She's not a bad person overall, just aggressive. Maybe its a way to protect herself or maybe that's just who she is. She's not the brightest, so she has to get around somehow, and it sure ain't gonna be through kindness, expect to maybe some people who deserve it. She doesn't have very many gal pals anymore but kinda misses it. But she loves being thought of as "one of the guys" -- but sometimes they are a little scared of her too. She's always happier right after a work out, so its the best time to talk to her about anything that might set her off. People often assume that her athleticism is an outlet for her rage and whatever caused it.
