Carl

Born from a litter of the hounds of the wild hunt, Carl was given as a gift to the King of the Auntumn Fae of the Black Forest. He was raised as a changeling child as the son of a family of peasants in 1500s Germany. Upon his change into a hound, he caused chaos in the house of his family's human lord and then escaped into the woods, where he was reunited with his master the Autumn King. Carl soon migrated with the King to the new world, settling in Red Oak. 400 years later the king gifted Carl to the new infant prince of the wood, and charged him with being his gaurdian and companion.

For seventeen years Carl has served Paul faithfully in many roles, esspecially that of Goofy Best Friend, a role that he has come to very much enjoy, basing his presentation mostly on 80s and early 90s sitcoms. Carl found himself much more loyal to the young prince than he ever was to the old king, and when time came for a coup, Carl was on the Prince's side. Now he serves as Paul's seneschal, helping him to understand and mesh with the world of the fae.
