However, envy festered in the court. The Marcellian family, ambitious and cunning, sought to undermine House Voss to ascend to greater power. They plotted a nefarious scheme, utilizing forbidden rituals to summon a demon during a grand celebration meant to showcase the Voss family’s influence. In a horrific turn of events, the demon unleashed chaos upon the gathering, and Kaelith watched in horror as her parents fought valiantly to protect her, ultimately sacrificing themselves in a desperate attempt to save their daughter. And Kaelith ultimately being left scarred from the onslaught, both physically and mentally.

Left alone in the aftermath, Kaelith's world shattered. The once-glorious name of Voss became synonymous with tragedy and loss. In her grief, she felt the sting of betrayal from those she had once considered allies. Consumed by a desire for vengeance and justice, she sought out the Whispering Shadow, a powerful entity that offered her the means to exact retribution against those who wronged her. The pact which granted her warlock powers, allowing her to harness dark magic—but it also entwined her fate with the shadowy forces that threatened to consume her.
