Story

Gilbert slowly opened his eyes and saw the light of life as a large Fabricdoll stood opposite him, with a fire-red outstretched hand and the smile of a hero. Perplexed, Gilbert took the doll's hand, and thus began the search for his very personal meaning of life.
All of his friends seem to have found that already. Kooneho dedicates her life to the search for a lost friend. Sanaki lives for her books, and Mayu for her bakery. Leon does everything to build his own fortune. Amon is a proud knight, and Illai is a self-absorbed yet sympathetic everyday hero. All the acquaintances that the young plastic doll could make in his first days of life stood firmly with both feet in their diverse lives. But what about Gilbert? He just appeared in this world without any visible purpose. For months, the confused doll searched for what his talent could be or what he might particularly like. And while he learned and enjoyed many things, he noticed that none of the activities really burned with a true passion, except in admiring the first face he saw in the world - Illai. Not only is Illai Gilbert's absolute role model, but he is also his closest friend, like an older brother. Perhaps the plastic doll could learn from him how to become a hero?
To try this out, he persuaded Illai to take him on a dangerous mission. Illai didn't hesitate and naively agreed, thinking that Gilbert, with his few months of life, was strong and ready enough for it. And so it happened. In the middle of a fight against a pack of wild animals, Gilbert wasn't paying attention and was pushed down a cliff by one of them. The last thing he remembered was a stabbing pain in his chest, but it disappeared when he woke up in a hospital bed. He looked down and couldn't believe his eyes. A huge, gaping hole had burst right under his gem. He must have hit a sharp-edged stone when he fell. When he was finally discharged from the hospital, the world suddenly looked different. Gilbert recognized beauty in the small things and finally understood that life isn't about a purpose or a goal that determines your actions. It's rather the way through life that makes life worth living. A big tear rolled down Gilbert's cheek as he looked up at the mighty outlines of the mountains, smiled, and told Illai that he had finally found his very personal purpose in life: to enjoy life to the fullest.

Gilbert didn't have any magic or special ability for most of his life. But his hair tie gifts him the ability to control the little meteorites surrounding his head and chest.

About the species Gemdoll

› Gemdoll is a closed species by Withy!
› Every Gemdoll has three important traits: doll joints, at least one mist ring (around their chest) and a gem on their chest which is their heart.
› The color of a Gemdoll's gem, mist ring, and blood is always the same.
› Same goes for Gilbert's crack on his chest, which is an old injury. It doesn't hurt unless you'd try to touch it.
› Age is just a number for Gemdolls. They're born as an adult and never grow old.
› Gemdolls don't have the need to eat or drink. They do it just for fun.
› There are different materials which a Gemdoll consists of. Gilbert is made of plastic.
