Jay is reclusive and skeptical of most people, but that's nothing out of the ordinary for a teenager. She finds comfort in loud music, online communities, and sharing her interests with people she can relate to. Out of those things, her favorite hobbies are artwork and exploring the woods around her house. Although she prefers to keep to herself, she has enough social skills to make a good impression. Her rebellious tendencies and niche interests, however, tend to alienate her from her peers. She gets along better with adults and has a lot of questions she isn't afraid to ask about the world. If she doesn't like the answer she gets, she won't hesitate to push for a better one. Her stubborness can be both an asset and a setback when it comes to getting what she wants.

Jenna is a teenaged canine with flopped ears and a thick tail. Her body type is chubby with most of her weight concentrated in her stomach and thighs. She changes her hairstyle often, but doesn't like to let it grow past her shoulders. She also prefers muted colors over bright hair dye.

backstory .
Jay's mother was involved in an affair, but broke things off once she realized the other woman was being abused. Shortly after, she realized she was pregnant, and had difficulty coping with the reality and her guilt. As a new mother, she was distant, and things only got worse when she heard the news of her former lover's murder. For a few years, Jay was raised by her grandmother, but returned home at age six when her mother was cleared from rehab.

Growing up, Jay always felt like an outsider and resented her mother for it. She feels closer to her half brother, Oliver, despite knowing very little about him. Part of the reason for that is that he's the only connection she has to her birth father, and Jay feels like she can use that relationship to get back at her mother.
