History

Dietrich was born in Berlin, Germany to two vampires. His life was relatively normal considering his demonic upbringing, at least until his older brother brutally murdered their parents in cold blood and an attempt at Dietrich's life, too. All at the ripe age of 15. His brother fled to the United States to pursue a chance to lead a stronger vampire lineage, and Dietrich followed, though all he wanted was revenge. Dietrich lived in New York from 15-16, then Chicago from 16-25, where he "settled down", immersed himself in the supernatural world, and became a vampire,

Now, his story in Torncreek begins at 25, on the road for another escape from life. Dietrich stumbled upon Torncreek, a tiny town somewhere in the desert out west. It's full of the supernatural, so he sticks around to make a "new" life for himself while he's on vacation from the band (and his husband). This temporary arrangement becomes a lot more permanent as he meets more people, sleeps around, gets a boyfriend, and murders his abusive husband.

Currently, Dietrich lives in a studio apartment with his boyfriend Elias. His other boyfriend, Valerius, moved in recently. He gets up to no good, causing problems for people in town and generally being a nuisance, but he means well, probably.

Dietrich is a recovering alcoholic. Not recovering from any other drug use, though.

After sustaining a temporarily life-ending injury to his chest and neck, Dietrich took a more extended break from the band, doing little to communicate with his friends back in Chicago. While his vocal cords are mostly-healed, he never made a full recovery, and loses use of his voice upon occasion (exacerbated by any aggressive singing he does). Val says he sounds better than he used to, though.

Personality

Content in being a menace to society, Dietrich is a rambunctious, fiery individual who has never felt calm in his life. His laid-back attitude towards violence and death, paired with his healing abilities, left him very willing to do anything for the sake of his own amusement. He's got a foul mouth, a sick sense of humor, and he's not afraid to say the worst shit imaginable.

Deep down, all Dietrich wants is to be loved, but he’s bad at expressing his feelings. If you can manage to get through his tough, punkass exterior, you’ll find a insecure, self conscious guy who just wants to impress friends.

Abilities

Dietrich is plagued by ridiculous strength and healing abilities, though only if he manages his blood intake well. Which he doesn't, because he doesn't have a responsible bone in his body. At peak performance, Dietrich can heal most injuries in under a minute and can lift approximately 40 tons. At his worst, he is nearly human, able to die to standard injuries (you know, a gunshot wound, a stabbing, the works) and can lift about 500lbs. Generally speaking, he tries to keep himself in the upper range when possible

Unlike most vampires, Dietrich can access a demonic form, where his body becomes entirely made of blood that he can manipulate the solidity of. He can turn completely solid or into a liquid, though he often sits somewhere in between. It seems this form is tied closely to his emotional state, as he sometimes transforms unexpectedly when enraged or sad, and loses control of his form (melting, growing spikes) when feeling extreme emotions.

He has trouble turning back to his human form, but has been practicing. Kind of.
