Excerpts from a letter penned by ex-senior advisor to House Hajakha, Charon
"To say that Senna is ambitious is to comment, rather blithely, that an adder is venomous. You might well have said nothing at all... Many serpents are venomous. Many men are ambitious. To distinguish the ambitious from the zealot, then, the python from the viper, it is more enlightening to ask one: what are you willing to lose?"
"I have also yet to meet a man who is as addicted to his work as lesser men to opium, or to the comfort of women. You will do well to remember this, when you gape at the tasks assigned to you: no matter how hard he works his men (to the bone, and beyond — I often wonder if he means to work us even in death), his room is the only one in the castle where the candles burn into the hours of dawn. I do not think the man sleeps."
"There is no written description that will ever capture the full intensity of him, so you'll just have to meet him yourself... If you asked Senna now “what are you willing to lose?”, I am not certain what his answer would be... I am a perceptive man, you see, older (and wiser, for which I suspect is a large part of why he has kept me on for this long) than he. And what strikes me as the most tragic thing about Senna, is his own realization that the more his ambition obtains for him — the more he has left to lose."

Relationships
Aghavni (Sol IV) Hajakha [ only daughter ]
The center of his life. Unexpectedly, is a genuinely good father; never the type to be outwardly doting, though he denies his daughter nothing and showers her in gifts whenever he returns from his travels. A relationship of mutual respect and admiration. Has never raised his voice at her in his life; considers the very idea distasteful.
Zofia Hajakha [ wife, deceased ]
Zofia II, First Princess of House Hajakha. His first, and perhaps only, love. Met Zofia when he was a Scarab prince, the youngest (and well on his way to becoming the most formidable) figure in his father's court. Married the visiting Solterran princess after a brief, intense courtship; renounced his title and departed for her homeland the year after. To him, her death (her murder) was not simply untimely but unwarranted, due entirely to his negligence and arrogance. Will carry this guilt with him forever.
Zolin Hajakha [ brother-in-law, deceased ]
Zofia's younger brother, and ex-King of Solterra. "Hate" is not nearly enough to describe the depth of feeling Senna holds towards him. Incompatible from their very first meeting, Senna thought the Boy King imcompetent, incalcitrant, and unstable; Zolin thought him a menace, utterly and fully. Worked fervently to dethrone Zolin for Zofia until the outbreak of the rebellions, and the fall of the monarchy.
Solovey, the Nightingale Prince [ half-brother ]
The infamous Second Prince of Scarab. Due to their Ancestors Eurus and Rune's traditional alliance, Solovey was the only one, outside of his mother, to take a genuine interest in the youngest prince's existence. Would be a far cry to say that Solovey made life at court easier for Senna, though he rarely made it hard. If pressed, would describe Solovey as 'infuriating' or 'a migraine' - but is truthfully quite fond of him.
