Personality

{ Daring, Courteous, Tender, Genuine, Scrupulous | Emotional, Vulnerable, Self-doubting, Altruistic, Gullible }

A well-mannered boy who might break a rule here and there for the sake of adventures - that's who Jeremy mostly is. If you want to have fun, he's the one for you. It seems that Jeremy's circle of friends is endless; he talks to anyone he sees, which ultimately makes the small talk a part of his daily routine, and spends his free time in a very active way. He regularly visits all of the clubs and checks on his friends, making sure they all feel happy. If someone happens to be in low spirits, Jeremy will take them on a stroll and try his best to make them feel less lonely. And most importantly, he does it out of the kindness of his heart - Jeremy does not have any hidden intentions whatsoever. He likes people for who they are and shows his appreciation by his actions and his words. There is nothing fake about Jeremy.

Jeremy cares for his friends, he cares even for strangers. And this friendliness seems to be spilling his emotions out of the bowl. When he is happy, he feels this happiness with his full body and soul. Jeremy just cannot contain himself, and he doesn't even try to. Whatever he wants to say he says, whatever he wants to do he does. However, just as joyful one be, there are always sufferings in one's life. And Jeremy is not an exception. The boy never was a happy-go-lucky kind of a person, which means tough times happen in his life. And those hit Jeremy just as hard, if not harder, than his positive emotions. At times when he feels sad, the tears cannot be stopped. They seem to overflow, and it does not matter for whom they are spilling: himself or other people.

With a constant rush of emotions, there ought to be times of calm. But for Jeremy, these times are more like drawbacks from a hard-drinking night. In these times, when all of his friends are somewhere else and he is all alone, his thoughts wander in a very dark place. Jeremy processes the information he receives and wonders if he truly is worth all the people he knows. What they say to him, even as a joke, he takes with full seriousness. All their troubles, opinions, feelings - Jeremy cannot forget about them so easily. Perhaps he cares too much about people, perhaps he cares too little about himself; he is willing to change nonetheless.

History

Jeremy was born into a family of unknown blood status, but somehow he assumed his parents were muggles all along. He never met them, never saw their faces and never knew their names, let alone their whereabouts. They were just as big of a mystery to him as Hogwarts once was. His real father, so to speak, was born as a muggle as well, so Jeremy lived his first decade without knowing anything about the magic world. At those times other thoughts were on the boy's mind, completely different from the thoughts he would be having during his years in Hogwarts. Father, church, praying, God. He didn't know anything else.

The first four years of his childhood Jeremy spent with his Father beside him. The man was a kind-hearted priest. He taught his son the laws he should live by, carving into Jeremy's heart the knowledge of the virtues and the sins, giving him a personality he would later stick to in his life. And although much later, he also gave him the knowledge of his birth. Jeremy did not seem to mind it but questioned Father whether he knew who his parents were. The priest could not give such an answer to the child, for he himself did not know about it. The child was, however, fine with it. There could not be any other Father for Jeremy, there could not be any other home.

On his fifth year of living, Jeremy began learning the violin. The sounds were angry with him at first, no matter how hard he struggled to please them. Sometimes they would only be annoyed, sometimes they would be completely mad with the child's playing - and so the strings would break, his fingers would ache and his feelings would hurt. But patience and diligence were taught to him even from earlier years, so Jeremy didn't give up, not once. When he got a little older he befriended a piano, an old yet majestic piano in the church. The sounds that came from it were soothing from the very start, although lacked the speed and the movement the child earnt for. The days seemed to pass quicker with the music, and in time Jeremy found himself being more interested in beautiful melodies than in anything else in the entire world.

His interests never changed completely but still took a swift turn when he discovered something strange, eerie, frightening even. It was completely out of this world, it was magical - literally. Jeremy did not know magic existed, he never knew that magic, the real magic was even possible. But if it was possible, surely it was not a thing from God, he had assumed. The boy's peaceful mind was then filled with frantic thoughts. He searched for an answer, he searched for help. But he was scared to turn to his Father for answers, the answers the priest could've never known. Thankfully, at that time Jeremy happened to accidentally see his friend, Noemi, use magic, and the veil of fear was lifted off his mind. She too could do it! He was not alone anymore! And so the two became closer to each other, and the boy's search for the knowledge began.

Everything that happened after that fateful encounter was just magical. The knowledge Jeremy's Father could not give him has turned his life upside down. He soon learned that there was a second world, hidden from the eyes of ordinary folk, the Wizarding World. There lived people like Noemi, people like Noemi's parents, people like Jeremy. And Jeremy began wishing to see it as if the World itself was calling for him. Would that place feel like home? Jeremy wanted to know.

The opportunity arrived in three months. Delivered by an unknown postman was a letter with a lovely red seal, and inside of it - an invitation to Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Jeremy almost broke a wall by jumping from happiness at that time. He could not believe his eyes! He first showed it to Noemi, his closest friend, and then... went to show it to Father. The priest was surprised by what his son brought him. He listened to Jeremy's explanations without a single interruption, sometimes nodding, sometimes frowning, and at the times smiling at his son. When the long conversation was over, Father stood up and placed his hands on the child's shoulders. The approving look in his eyes told Jeremy all he had to know. The boy cried at that time, so blessed he felt that night, but neither Noemi nor any of his future Hogwarts friends would ever know of it.

The last few days before the Hogwarts Express were especially hectic. Jeremy's and Noemi's families traveled together to Britain, where they had to buy supplies for the new school year and eventually be separated on the train station. Jeremy was awestruck the first time he walked into the Ollivanders, not so much into the Familiars' shop (he never really got the idea of pets, although owls did look cool to him). The 11-year-old got extremely emotional when he and Father had to part, and a minute later extremely disgusted when Noemi shoved a chocolate frog in his mouth. Louds of crazy sweets later Jeremy finally fell asleep, only to wake up already near the Hogwarts grounds.

And it felt like home. It did. From the first step he took into Hogwarts, from the first meal - a feast! - he ate, oh, from the time the Sorting Hat was placed on his head, from the moment he became a fearless Gryffindor, from the first flying class he had, from his first hit in the face by a broom, from the first spell he cast, from the first owl he turned into a cup, from the very first test he took, finally, from the time he joined the Orchestra club and the sounds from his violin were not that of an anger but of a laughter. Hogwarts always felt like home to Jeremy! He knew it from the time he saw Noemi use magic, and from that moment onward he only became surer. He did not want to go back.

Trivia

  • ENFP, Chaotic Good. Moodboard link
  • His way of using the wand is similar to that of a conductor's - graceful as if the spells he casts are sounds waiting to be made into a melody.
  • Frequently joins his friends from the Dueling club when the higher-ups aren't there and spars with them in secret.
  • Stutters when nervous;
  • Plays violin and piano, but as a career --. Perfect pitch. Somehow loves solfeggio, but not the biggest fan of music history. Wants to begin conducting the orchestra✨
  • Seems to be immensely interested in the theoretical viewpoint of magic, so excels in Transfiguration and Magical Theory. Has a deep understanding of how spells are supposed to work and currently wants to get better at his D.A.D.A. classes;
  • Carefully listens to Herbology, Charms, Astronomy and Divination lectures but seems to get absentminded during the History of Magic. Usually composes music during the last one (either for himself or for the orchestra).
  • Awful at Potions class. Jeremy finds it amusing and as a result, manages to blow something every single time (unless he's really lucky to have someone around to prevent the accident).

Father, Mr.Beaumont (Muggleborn, Priest)

"Father is a very kind person. He's not a wizard, but even when we got my acceptance letter he didn't oppose me studying here. I do miss him, being so far away and rarely seeing him now, but I know it's for the best. We'll meet again next summer."

Noemi Barnett (Pureblood, Ravenclaw)

"She is my best friend, we've been together for a long time now! It's a shame we ended up in different houses, but Noemi always was a smart kid, so it's no big surprise she ended up in Ravenclaw, really! What do I like about her? Well, she is... very honest and, well yes, very smart too. We usually hang out in the library unless I manage to drag her outside."
