Reivax

Reivax is a flipped Jelly Bean Dragon. He has deep turquoise eyes, a split turquoise tongue, floppy ears, and light pink nails. His soft and short light tan fur is marked with darker tan underbelly and stripes over his face, neck, loins, and tail, topped off with a white cover across his entire back to his tail tip. He is fluffiest at the neck and tail tuft. Like all JBDs, he has a belly pouch for carrying items in.

Reivax always carries a jar of cookies, a fly swatter, a camera, and a notepad in his pouch or, if he's wearing clothes, pockets.

His work uniform is a plain white chef's outfit with black rims. If cooking at home, he will sometimes wear one of many colorful pastel aprons. A few even have cookie or other baked good-based designs.

In anthro, Rei wears his plain white chef's uniform to work and favors bright pastel colors for casual clothing. He likes comfy clothing, like sweaters, loose t-shirts, jogging pants, hoodies, and pajamas.

Like all JBDs, Reivax can breathe small flames. His flames are bright blue. These flames are only used for minor things, like toasting marshmallows and cooking when he doesn't have a cooking surface available.

Reivax, called "Rei" for short, is a cheerful and laid back JBD who always seems to wear a smile on his face. He is an incredibly positive individual and rarely has anything bad to say. He loves to crack jokes, especially puns, to make people laugh and enjoys making others smile. A lot of his time is spent sharing a bit of this sunshine with others around him. No matter how bad things get, he's always looking at the bright side and making the most of it.
He doesn't like people being negative and always attempts to spin conversations to a brighter side. It makes him sad when his friends are sad, and he doesn't like seeing his friends or children cry.

Rei has a strong belief that life should be enjoyed, because it doesn't last forever. The last thing he ever wants to do is dwell on the past and every little thing gone wrong. If something doesn't go right, then it goes wrong. He doesn't make a huge deal of it and keeps on marching. Life goes on.
Grudges don't exist with this bean, because he's always willing to forgive and doesn't see the point in holding it against someone for so long.

He is often childish in his way of speaking and his behavior, especially when he's trying to entertain. It's no surprise that he gets along with children so well.
Due to his childish side, some may find it difficult to see him as an authority figure. He isn't very strict or assertive, either, and has difficulty in dealing with more rebellious folk.
However, he is still capable of pulling himself together to act as a mature adult when necessary. He's capable of keeping calm and doesn't panic easily. It's useful when he needs to think of the best way to act in a situation.

Rei will never take favors from other without being able to pay them back. He doesn't like owing people anything, especially not money. If he wants something, he'll get it by his own hard work. When a friend does a favor for him or gives him a gift, even a birthday gift, he'll always feel compelled to repay them at a later date - often with cookies or a cake. No matter how hard his friends tell him that he doesn't have to, they are getting that cake.

Shopping is his least favorite activity. He's wary about spending too much money and often saves more than he'll ever spend. Instead, shopping trips end up awkwardly short when his friends invite him along. Most of the time, he ends up window shopping and returns home empty-handed. He prefers to stalk sales for the best deals, and he's always asking himself twice if he really needs "this" or "that." In the end, he's content with only buying the bare necessities, like groceries. It takes a ton of convincing to get him to splurge on himself for his birthday or some special occasion.
The extra cash overflowing his pockets doesn't go to waste, though, since he doesn't mind giving money to help out a friend or charity. His heart will always remain bigger than his wallet.

He works as a baker and loves his job; he's passionate about it. He'll never miss a beat as long as he's behind the counter and in the kitchen of his beloved bakery. On most days, he can even be heard singing some tunes to the music playing off the speakers, and he'll even decorate the cupcakes in front of his customers. Every bit of his artistic talent can be seen on all of his creations, and these creations are shared with and enjoyed by many.
Once a year, he runs a bake sale fundraiser for a charity of his choice. He allows others to help out during the event.

Rei's culinary skills aren't restricted to just baked goods. The guy doesn't live purely on sugar, after all, and he has a taste for wholesome good foods. When he's cooking for himself or a guest, he specializes in traditional cuisine, specifically French and Italian, and is capable of making some mouth-watering and flavorful dishes. He loves learning new recipes and likes to trade recipes with fellow chefs.

FLIES. Flies are his greatest enemy, as he'd tell you. He loves all animals but these in particular; he hates them with a burning passion. They are the sole reason he always carries a fly swatter in his pouch. He always needs to be prepared to face them when the time has come. A bit of buzzing around the bakery? Fly swatter at the ready.
If he's not working, Rei can become obsessed with hunting down a single fly. He'll aim for the window blinds, the chairs, the tables, and anything possible until that fly is dead. Nobody knows how many window blinds he's gone through in his personal war against the flies. Give it an hour or so...and he might give up the chase.

Rei's favorite food is sweets, from candies to pastries, and he has quite the sweet tooth. It's too obvious that the baker who devotes his life to making sweet treats happens to enjoy them himself. Above all, he absolutely loves cookies, especially sugar cookies and snickerdoodles. He even carries a small jar of cookies in his pouch for when he feels like having a snack.
He despises cauliflowers, brussel sprouts, and any foods with bitter flavors.

He has a fondness for bright colors and pastels, often using them in cake decorations and for his entire bakery. His love for bright colors and sweets is pasted all over his apron.

In his spare time, he likes to take pictures for his scrapbook at home. His artistic talents also extend to paper and photography.

Reivax runs a local bakery called the "Bean Bakery" (alternatively known as the "BakeRei") that he also considers his home. It's a smaller building with two floors. The main floor is the bakery and kitchen, while the top floor is his living space. During the day, he can be found managing the front counter of the bakery or baking away in the kitchen behind it.

The bakery is a bright open space with naturally-colored patterned marble flooring and simple circular ceiling lights. At the front, it has two large decorated glass windows and a glass door with an open/closed sign hanging behind it. Next to the large windows are brightly colored pastel tables and a few chairs. The front counter is lined to the brim with large lit up glass display counters and rows upon rows of baked goods - fresh from the kitchen. At the cash register, there is a plastic cutlery stand with napkins for those who would rather eat cookies with a fork...or something.

Behind the counter is a double door to the large kitchen where all the magic happens. Just like the bakery itself, the kitchen has a natural and bright atmosphere with a hint of pastels. It contains a large kitchen counter and center table with all the cooking utensils a chef could dream of. Reivax keeps a large kitchen mixer in the corner in case a normal mixer doesn't work for the job. He always keeps the kitchen spotless by the end of the day.

On top of serving baked goods like cookies, cakes, donuts, and sweet bread, the menu also includes sweet teas, coffee, and milk.

A set of stairs behind the counter lead up to the second floor. On the second floor is Reivax's bedroom. That's about it.

When Reivax was born, his mom originally wanted to name him "Xavier." His dad joked one too many times about their son being a "flipped" bean due to Rei's fur color being the opposite of his parents, and "Reivax" ended up sticking. Rei was an only child and grew up with a loving family that always stuck to traditional recipes, particularly French and Italian cuisine. That same love for traditional food was passed down to Rei himself. He loved his mom's cooking, and she'd always bake cookies as a special treat for the family. It was his mother's cooking that inspired young Rei to learn how to cook. She'd give him cooking lessons, allowing him to practice in the kitchen, and she'd teach him all the family recipes. Eventually, as he felt more confident, Rei began to experiment with his own recipes.

After graduating highschool, Rei went on to a culinary arts school, where he learned more about typical cuisine, preparation, and plating. He later found his calling in baking and dedicated himself to it.

During his time at the school, he met a bunch of cool peeps and partook in culinary shenanigans on the side. At one point, he flavored a cake with the gross "medicine grape" flavor and disguised it as a strawberry cake to punk the judges, and it was great. He was an otherwise well-behaved (but not "angelic") student who got good grades and applied himself to everything.

After he graduated from culinary arts, Rei moved into the city to open up his very first bakery. At first, he was excited to make the first payment for the building, but, soon, reality ensued: he realized that he didn't have much business skill and had no idea what to do next. Running a business was nothing like his dreams or how he expected.

It didn't take long for his colorful dream to crumble, as he was unable to manage his shop properly. He struggled to make ends meet and ended up falling back on his plan. While it broke his heart, he ultimately sold his first bakery before he could go bankrupt.

His culinary skills came in handy, however, and he managed to land a job at a restaurant for a while to help pay off his remaining loans. The restaurant manager was a kind man. While Rei was working under him, the manager often talked with and gave Rei some advice on running a business. Rei took all of this advice to heart and kept it with him as he saved up his money to try again.

After a little more struggling and much more saving up, Rei managed to start up a second bakery. This time, he was ready and knew how to manage his funds better. He'd drum up business by being friendly, and he'd hand out samples, like small cookies and cupcakes, that lured in the customers. It didn't take long for his second bakery to take off.
Finally, he was successful, and he was proud.

To this day, Rei still runs the very same bakery, the "Bean Bakery," in his home city.
