Lucien Bernier's Comments

Ooo, this character really caught up my attention! :0

The first thing I wanna note is his balanced, accurate personality: He got a good proportion between positive and negative traits. And not only that, they are quite accurate for his character. Being a teenager, influenced by his group as well as influencing them (since he's considered a leader).

And talking about leadership: That's a detail I specially liked! He actually got the personality to be it (Charismatic yet "serious"; wouldn't be likely to get bypassed because of this attitude, since charismatic leaders are stronger than violent/imponent ones; at least to what I've gotten to observe in general media/history).

I also found interesting his liking towards cinema, much more given to the era they belong to.

I couldn't really give that much of a tip for improvement, specially because I don't know a lot of pre-war history and context ;v;

I try my best of giving balanced commentary when I get the chances, so I'm sorry about that detail! ;;

Still, interesting boy! <3

Aww tysm! I'm glad you liked him and found his personality balanced ❤️ Don't worry about the lack of critique or the length of your comment, it's perfectly fine and I really enjoyed reading it! :)

Np! I'm glad you enjoyed it ;w;

I like how you specifically said that Lucien knows how to "look serious", implying that he just sorts of fakes in in between being a goofball. I like that a lot more then saying that he's jovial, but knows how to be serious which is way more bland. His character type was also pretty common in pre-war Europe. No clue if that was intentional on your part. Lots of rich kids spend the day going to races and drinking and never working cause they don't have to just like millennial stereotypes.

I'm wondering how he directs his films without speaking. Do all his friends know sign language or is Louis always around? It also makes it interesting that he's the anarchist type, or maybe it has to do with why he's the anarchist type? I don't really know the point of the character or the story you're trying to tell so I can't really critique. However I'd say that drinking and smoking was so common back then it's more likely he'd just do them cause he's a guy who's almost an adult than him just being a show-off. Maybe change it to him doing it just to fit in if anything?

Thanks a lot!! I'm glad you like his personality c: And no haha, I think it's a coincidence! I just try to come up with believable character types for Olivier's friend group, if that makes sense? But I'm happy to know I hit the spot!

Louis is often around, but he obviously can't be always here! Most of Lucien's friends know a bit of sign language so it's kinda okay, but Louis is the only one I'd consider fluent. So Louis is preferred but some others can try to do his job instead in case of an emergency. He isn't really a political anarchist if that's what you're saying, it's merely the title that is often given to his alignment: chaotic neutral! Lucien is just part of Olivier's friend group so he isn't really meant to have a developed story of his own; Olivier's story will mostly be a slice of life thingy focusing on his relationships with his friends and stuff!

And yup, thanks for the input! I know that is was considered normal at his time (and even nowadays, in my country at least-), but uhh :'D I have to think about it, but I don't think that Lucien would do it just to fit in. Nearly all his friends drink, and being their "leader", I think he would be the one starting the whole thing, if that make sense.

But yeah, thanks for the feedback! I'll try to keeping this in mind when developing him further c:
