lightningheart's mentor before he joined thunderclan. lightningpaw treated him like a father figure but was still always weird around him and scared and desperate to be on his good side. gingerleap never understood how lightningpaw could like him so much if he looked so terrified all the time, but he tried his hardest to be the most supportive and encouraging he could be.

their relationship ended when gingerleap nearly killed thunderclan's applepaw, lightningpaw's close friend, in a battle. lightningpaw ran away after an argument and the next time gingerleap saw him was in thunderclan's gathering patrol, fiercely tucked right next to applepaw.

gingerleap has manx syndrome, which is the cause of his short tail. he also has bladder issues and cant jump well
