Arianna

Arianna is the modern day Queen of Light in the world of Cenore.

The matriarchy for the throne of the Light Queen is not chosen by blood line but by a mark given to a baby by the power of the Light Goddess, Vina.

Arianna originally came to me in a dream, her story seemed to have many elements from the story of King Arthur so I kept that theme for her.

Every Light Queen has a mentor that I am temporarily calling a 'Merlin'. This 'Merlin' is always a godling child selected to keep the Light Queen safe, when they hit their prime they stop aging until they meet the next Queen's 'Merlin' who they must teach to take their place.

Arianna's 'Merlin' is her childhood friend, Marvin.

Arianna's rise to the throne is not easy though as the Dark Queen has sent her Dark Knights to assassinate Arianna, Marvin, and any person who may be selected to be one of her twelve Light Knights. Also as an added difficulty is the fact that Arianna rejects her destiny to rule as Light Queen, she doesn't want that kind of life and would prefer to be the simple girl she once was.

As a half fire witch she is able to manipulate fire with her specialty being the use of lightning, something she does not discover until much later as she was not aware of her witch blood. She also uses a staff in battle, she has studied the way of fighting with a Bo Staff most of her life. Later she learns to harness her lightning abilities through a metal staff when she fights.
