Gábor

Born in Hungary in the year 1196, forcibly turned into a vampire then left for the wolves without ever meeting his sire. Fell from all grace and had to fight tooth and nail to stay alive. Possessing and protective of an impressive code of honor that does him no good. More empathy than he knows what to do with and easily antagonized because of it. Can not afford to be cared for. Wears his heart on his sleeve. Smarter than he may let on, but does things against his better judgement out of love. Shoulders so broad he tries to carry everyone's burdens despite their protest. Strength so great he will shield those he loves from harm. Heart so heavy he will kill himself in the process. Takes the blows but has trouble getting up. Should have cut the ties to his mortal life and didn't and never will. Possesses of a dogged determination that's either foolish or downright stupidity. Unwillingly caught in a political intrigue he won't win, destined to serve greater and horrible men by his birthright. An invisible man caring for invisible people. Desperate for community.

Gábor serves as an executioner, a neccessary evil. Part of a local militia group of vampires founded by the oldest childe of the local controversial senechal, the nobility's keeper. They hold other vampires accountable for their crimes against their own kin as well as mortals, ensuring a fair trial, process, and execution. They work in tandem with the Senechal's Lord as well as hold him, his nobility and even themselves accountable, and investigate crimes and altercations done to their human and vampire population to ensure no one can run loose and get drunk on power. Controversially they even care for the damage done to mortals, even if it is just so one vampire cannot shoot them all in the foot. In short, they keep each other and everyone in check. Politically entirely neutral, they care only that the masquerade is upheld and protected at all cost and that their populations stay stable through sometimes violent peacekeeping.

Gábor is the final stop. He is the righteous sword, and he exists to ensure that there will be no vengeance or vigilante justice. He exists to ensure there will not be blood feuds between the families. When unanimously death has been decided, it is Gábor that they will call upon, whose crime of kinslaying will be forgiven and absolved by nature and purpose of his being.

As Gábor has no sire he is essentially lawless- no one will speak for him, protect him or answer for him. Joining the militia was his only chance and they knew this, dooming him to the greatly ostracized role and dooming him to the life of a pariah.

As his bloodline of vampire Gábor has several abilities. His shapeshifting is perhaps his most prominent trait - he can turn into a peregrine falcon and a huge, oversized dark Carpathian boar, easily mistaken for a great bear at a glance. He can see and smell through even magical darkness and can track trails with ease. When not shapeshifted Gábor's claws can grow several inches long and rip through flesh like butter. The cuts they leave, as well as his bite, fester and cannot ever heal on a mortal body, whereas vampires will need to rest for a long time at the cost of much blood. With his great fortitude, thick hide, vicious strength and sharp claw Gábor is a force to be reckoned with, were it not for an inherently pacifist nature, who would rather suffer than to inflict suffering. As with all vampires daylight will mean Gábor's immediate end, and fire brings fear in the heart of all his kin. He misses the sun and the warmth of it greatly.
