Backstory

Caelum's parents met through work, they were both journalists working for the New York Post. His father Charles was born and raised in England, he left the UK as he didn't want to be a farmer like his family before him. His mother, Laura, came from a well off family, going to an Ivy League College and graduating with the highest honours. They met through work. His mother was a hard hitting Investigative journalist while his father covered the sports section of the paper. They formed a close bond and fell in love within a few months of dating

A few years after her parents were wed, Laura gave birth to a healthy baby girl and named her Estelle. The named her this because while Laura was pregnant, she and Charles spend evenings together, watching the stars and talking about their daughter, hence the celestial name. Caelum too was given a celestial name, named after a constellation albeit his name is pronounced differently. 

For most of his life he was compared to his over achiever sister, which made him feel like less. Despite the fact his parents always loved him the same as his sister, he felt immense pressure and crumbled under this. As soon as he was able, he moved abroad and became a travel blogger. He lived the party boy lifestyle for a while, getting involved in heavy drinking and casual drug use. Whilst his work was often good, he spent most of his life nursing a hangover or withdrawal symptoms.  

There were always issues between him and his sister, mostly because of his inferiority complex and her multiple successes.  They would argue as kids which only got worse as they grew up. On several occasions Caelum would sabotage her work, meddle in her friendships or even mess up her relationships. He even slept with Estelle's girlfriend which ruined their romance and drove a wedge between the two. When Caelum missed Estelle's university graduation and he didn't help her out of the abusive relationship she was in, this drove them even further apart than ever before.
