Story

History

Shizu's parents had divorced when she was five, and the custody between the two had her going between both of her parent's housing through her entire childhood until she was eighteen. She would stay with her mom for three months, then with her dad for three, going back and forth between them throughout the years. The split between parents seemed to have a negative affect on her, leaving her a bit bitter about her life. Though at the same time there seems to be a deeper meaning and reason for this bitterness, though no one is quite sure what it is, as she never talks about it. Though it can be assumed it's about her father, as she refuses to ever talk about him, and barely ever acknowledges that he existed.

Growing up, whenever she was at her father's house, Shizu was friends with Kaori, where she would help Shizu out where she needed it, and was just there to be a friend. Kaori had promised Shizu that she would always be there for her, and would protect her when she needed it. But eventually Kaori left for college, being older, leaving Shizu behind. Shizu found this to be a big sort of betrayal to her, breaking the promise of those two promising to always be there for each other. Since then the two had not been on good terms with each other.

As soon as she could, Shizu moved out and started fending for herself in life, where her obsession with strength seemed to start. She trained before she was an adult, but it grew much more intensive afterwards, with her doing whatever she could to bulk up. At some point her obsession took her even further, where she started challenging people she thought to be strong. Some of these people were also...obsessed though, and would fight pretty harshly, and it would lead to people getting hurt, and...occasionally severely injured. She feels bad for the ones she has ended up taking it worse too, but in a fight stuff like that can happen and she tries to keep on that fact as she continues to get stronger.

Current Day

Shizu nowadays, thanks to some help from a group of people gathered by her old friend, has managed to get some help for herself. And while she still has plenty of struggles with her self worth being tied to her physical strength, she has gotten a lot better about it and has learned to make some genuine connections with people.

She now lives her recently married to husband, and her now adopted daughter that she took on a parental role to. While her life very much isn't perfect, she works hard to not mess up this new family she has, or ruin the friends she made along the way.

Species/Powers Notes

Wind Powers

Shizu is a wind user. She can manipulate wind to her will, using wind blast, increasing her agility and jump height with it, and even make small tornadoes. She pairs this power a lot with her axe, using the wind a lot like an extension of the weapon, where the wind can be shot out like a blade, sharp enough to cut into a rock slightly. She also tends to use it more for fighting than utility, but sometimes the wind around her can manipulate with her emotions.

Design Notes

• The ring she has on her left hand is her wedding ring, only worn after marrying Zar, her husband.
• She used to almost always keep her axe on her, though she's started carrying it around less and less.
• She tends to keep her makeup pretty minimal, but she sometimes will dabble in more fancy makeup styles.
• Her style tends to be blues and more darker colors.

Relationships

Zar

[ Husband ]

Shizu had met Zar out one day from being concerned about his health. Even if Zar didn't appreciate it much, she got lucky that they hit it off quickly. Shizu did find him to be very cute, and was pretty smitten with him immediately. Luckily he had fallen for her too, and the two started a relationship from there, over time getting real close and eventually marrying. (character belongs to SunshineCo)

Zoey

[ Daughter ]

Zoey came as park as a package deal when Shizu was dating Zar, and Shizu has to admit she was worried about Zoey liking or being approved by her. Though after taking it slowly for Zoey's sake, the two did find care for each other, to the point where Zoey was accepting of Shizu adopting her to be mom. While Shizu still sometimes gets nervous about Zoey, she adores the kiddo and would do anything to keep her safe.

Medli

[ Best Friend ]

The two ended up meeting due to Medli's boyfriend introducing them, and even if they were both awkward at first, they did end up getting along pretty well. The two had some similar interests, and even ended up becoming sparring buddies with each other. Even if they often take the sparring too far with each other, they can tend to laugh it off after. Kaori

[ Ex-Friends ]

When Shizu and Kaori were children, they were neighbors, at least at Shizu's dad's house. And from that they became pretty decent friends. Kaori promised that she would always protect little Shizu when they grew up, but when Kaori went off to college, Shizu felt betrayed and hurt, and have hardly had a friendly conversation since then. Even still, Kaori still seems to show concern towards Shizu, just wanting her to be okay.

Echo

[ Friend ]

Echo was one of the biggest factors in helping Shizu out of her obsessive and destructive state. She was gentle and kind to Shizu, which Shizu didn't have much before. Shizu found herself being receptive to Echo's advice and help, and was willing to keep talking to her after everything.
