- Clan Harrow
Morgwyll (Mor-gWish) is an ancient, inscrutable figure within Clan Harrow—known as the first and only Dreadweaver. He is not remembered as a mistake in creation, but as its hidden consequence: the one who shaped curses into an art so complete that even gods hesitate to claim knowledge of it.
To speak of Morgwyll is to invoke inevitability. He does not scatter malice wildly—every curse he breathes is deliberate, precise, and permanent. Where others flail with rage, he threads calamity with mastery, weaving despair and silence into forms that cling as though carved into the marrow of existence itself.
No one agrees on what he truly is—an exile from reality, or its buried truth—but all know that he endures. And now, it is whispered, Morgwyll abides in Caerfyr, Mhöravai.
Personality
Morgwyll is not a being with a personality in any conventional sense—he is an intrusion, a flaw in reality that simply is, rather than acts. He does not speak often, and when he does, his voice slips into the mind like a memory that never belonged to you—unfamiliar, heavy, and quietly invasive. He observes. He listens. He exists in stillness, yet that stillness feels watched, as if something vast and predatory waits just beneath the surface of perception.
He is beyond morality, empathy, or logic. Concepts like joy, cruelty, or mercy do not apply to him. Morgwyll does not choose to be benevolent or malevolent; he acts according to an internal rhythm that no sentient mind could hope to understand. Suffering, to him, is not a tragedy—it is a shape, a sound, a texture worth noticing. He often responds to agony or collapse with a thin, unnatural grin that stretches disturbingly close to each ear. It is not amusement—it is something colder, older.
Despite this, Morgwyll exhibits a strange awareness of how he affects others. He appears to derive a kind of quiet satisfaction from unsettling those around him. He often appears without warning—emerging from doorframes too narrow for his size, peering from high corners, or simply being there when he wasn’t a moment before. He may vanish from view only to be standing beside someone an instant later, or loom silently behind them with no indication of how he moved. This behaviour is never overtly aggressive—it is deliberate and measured, as if performed for his own interest rather than intimidation.
His movements only heighten the discomfort. At times he moves fluidly, his long limbs flowing with unnatural grace; at other times, he shifts or twitches with subtle, almost insect-like wrongness. He often stands in crooked poses—asymmetrical and tensionless—like a marionette hanging off-balance. One shoulder may rise unnaturally high while the other slouches; his neck may tilt too far in one direction, or his spine may seem to lean as if something is pulling it from behind. These details, however minor, contribute to a constant sense that something is off, even when he is perfectly still.
Morgwyll is far from harmless. He is the nightmare of all things that exist—a horror not only to mortals, but to gods and entities beyond time. Even the divine fears him. The demons do not speak his name. He is not chaos—he is inevitability. A fundamental wrongness in the fabric of reality that cannot be undone, only endured.
Despite this, he is drawn to certain things: music, textures, the way light breaks across broken glass, or the sound of crumbling walls. He is particularly fond of singing. His voice, when used for music, is low and distant, often described as haunting, or disturbingly beautiful. Whether he sings to soothe, to signal, or for his own inscrutable reasons, he often hums to himself in the dark, like a ritual without meaning to anyone but him.
Among those he does not destroy are the Clan Harrow, marked by his influence and bound to him in a sense. Toward them, Morgwyll behaves differently. Not warm, not exactly—but deliberate, watchful, and oddly constant. His eerie smile, when directed at the Harrow, feels less mocking and more possessive, as if he sees them as his. In times of need, he may intervene silently: a shadow cast where it should not be, a breath of rot that spoils an enemy's blade, or a presence that halts fate for just a moment longer—He intervenes when the rot must favour them. After all, they are touched by the Blighted Veil. Of all beings, only Khravik, his companion and chosen, seems to receive something approaching intimacy. Around Khravik, Morgwyll is quieter still—his gestures softer, his silence heavier with meaning. Whatever Morgwyll feels, it is not love in any familiar shape—but it is real. Something immense—It is affection twisted through the lens of something that should never have learned how to care.
What Morgwyll offers is not safety, nor peace. It is not mercy. It is belonging—in the presence of something ancient and vast enough to end all things, but choosing, for now, to remain.
Appearance
Morgwyll is an unnerving figure, towering over three meters with a skeletal, lanky frame that gives him an unmistakably uncanny presence. His body is sheathed in pale, fish-like scales—thin and overlapping, with a soft, almost translucent sheen that catches the light like wet bone. Though colourless at a glance, the scales shift subtly with movement, revealing faint undertones of grey and ivory. Dark freckles mar the surface in scattered patches, especially along his face, shoulders, and back.
His face is long and gaunt, he has a long flat nose and his ears are small and pointy, though crooked, like a hook facing down. He has no eyebrows, and his hair is straight and thin, falling past the level of his chin, in uneven strands, and his features are crowned by a pair of segmented, short horns. His ever-closed eyes, surrounded by pronounced dark circles, seem to pierce into the very soul with no need to show what’s behind those eyelids.
Perhaps most disquieting is his mouth—forever drawn into a wide, unnatural grin that stretches disturbingly close to either ear. The expression is neither joyful nor kind; it is a grim, mocking contortion of mirth. His lips are black and razor-thin—so much so that the upper lip is almost invisible, leaving the lower lip as the more prominent feature. His teeth are short, jagged, and razor-sharp.
Morgwyll’s limbs, particularly his hands and feet, are unnaturally long, further emphasising his eerie proportions. Both his hands and feet have five fingers, each ending in short, black, squared-off nails. His draconic feet are especially striking, with protruding metatarsophalangeal joints. Short bony spikes run the length of his spine. His long tail, sheathed in scales, tapers to a sleek tip that sways fluidly with his movements.
His left arm bears a deep black scar running from his cubital fossa to just below the tip of his thumb. The scar is jagged and rough-edged, with visible stitching marks along its borders—seemingly a grim testament to some past injury or act of punishment. His lips and long throat are also marked by both deep and shallow scars, ghostly remnants of those who perished in futile attempts to hush his cursed voice.
Morgwyll’s tongue, a hallmark of the Harrow lineage, is naturally black. When fully extended, it appears unusually long, with many filaments resembling gnarled and sinewy roots.
Morgwyll speaks with a slow, deliberate cadence, his accent thick and weighty—laden with long, rolling vowels and consonants softened into near silence. Each word seems measured, as if he’s tasting the shape of it before letting it fall. His speech has an almost melodic rhythm, but one that stumbles slightly, unpredictably—like a song half-remembered or sung backwards.

Trivia
- Morgwyll displays a disturbing fondness for bones—particularly the sound and texture of them breaking. It is not uncommon for him to crunch them slowly, almost contemplatively.
- He possesses an unnerving talent for mimicry. Morgwyll can replicate voices, accents, and even complex environmental sounds with eerie precision. Often, it is impossible to distinguish his imitation from the original.
- Morgwyll is known to craft musical instruments, though rarely. These creations are delicate, often made from warped driftwood, bone, or shell, and are said to produce tones that linger too long or resonate strangely in the ear. Each one seems to be made for a specific moment or song—then discarded, hidden, or gifted in silence.
