Kurapikari stands for Kurapika X Hikari
This Ship takes place in the Hunter X Hunter universe and was created 2002.

Hikari becomes the companion of Kurapika when he was a kid. Hikari's breed of a Thunder Fox is a coveted target for any kind of unauthorized hunters, who would like to sell her high or get the gem from her head. Removing the gem from the head of those foxes will result in their death or, if they are lucky, will turn them into normal foxes with no special abilities. Kurapika has saved her and nursed her back to health. When he wanted to release her to the wild after her recovery, she revealed her ability to be able to speak through her mouth and in a telepathic way, while she prefers the telepathic way. She said she would like to stay until she could repay the debt by saving his life as well one day.

This chance happened during the Hunter Exam a few years later. But as soon as Hikari left since the promise was fulfilled, both realized this wasn't the reason anymore why they been together in the first place. They went through a lot and their bond became stronger. It wasn't 'repaying the debt' anymore, it was a friendship, or even family. And so, Hikari joined him back again a short while after. Since then she tried to be his light in the dark anytime when his heart was about to fall into deep darkness and hatred due to everything that he went through.

Later on, she uses Fox Magic to transform into a human now and then, since she realized it was much easier to prevent trouble for her normal appearence when she hides what she actually was.
