Alexandrite is one of the latest gems to be made from Fancy Blue Diamond's gem experiments. They are made from the gems of an Amethyst, a Pearl, a Ruby and a Sapphire. They have no memory of these past gems and can't mentally grasp that they are an abomination to gemkind. The gems that they were built from were captured runaway gems. 

They are childish and require supervision, so they don't accidentally hurt themselves or others. They have incredible strength that rivals even the strongest of Silver's super soldiers. Angel Aura is usually the one who watches them. She is motherly and wise. She teaches them all she can.

They question themselves a lot, they can't grasp what they are and feel sad and lonely most of the time.
