Nina is a hunter from the Old World who has recently come to the New World in search of new monsters to challenge and possibly new hunters to form rivalries with. She is really competitive but is also very supportive when it comes to her teammates during hunts. Her preferred weapon is the hammer. She loves the utility and power of it. She loves to challenge monsters that are seen as the apexes of their kind or are seen as royal. Her palico companion is a pink and white calico named Clara who specializes in healing.

Nina was an orphan who grew up in Port Tanzia. She was found by the blacksmith who took her her in and raised her. He supported her in her development as a hunter and Nina still thinks of him fondly and sends him trinkets from the New World. She took up hunting to support herself and found herself to be a natural at wielding a hammer. She eventually became very well known for her skills and an expert in her field. She has a very good instinct of reading monsters and their habits. She eventually became bored and upon hearing about the success of hunters in the recently discovered Astera she set off to take on new adventures there. On one of her first expeditions there when she was hunting an Anjanath, a group of Wyverian hunters happened upon her and the young handler Kasee kept her from killing it and instead convinced her to capture. She currently travels with the Kasee (who is now her girlfriend and acts as the groups handler) and her friends Petra and Riva.
