- Thanks to his powers Ethan is able to breathe under water! He's also a very fast swimmer.

Ethan is a very calm and laid-back person. He tends to be pretty quiet, never really raising his voice, and keeps quiet about his worries. While this means he’s often a calming presence, he’s admittedly not always the best at giving advice and it can be very difficult to tell what he’s really thinking. Since he wants to make people feel better, he can tend to tell them what they want to hear rather than what they might need to hear.
Because of his tendency to keep quiet about his thoughts and rarely talk about himself this can lead to him surprising the people who think they know him. If asked directly his opinion, he’ll state it, and sometimes people don’t expect the answer he gives. That said his goal is always to keep people as happy and well-off as possible. He mostly likes to do this through food, but defaults to other types of activities too. He’s very likely to lie if it means it’s beneficial to someone else.
Ethan grew up with a normal family and normal life for the most part. He has a younger brother named Oliver and the two of them often help out in their parents' bakery. When he was young, he lived in a small town, but he later moved to Cleodora which would prove to be stressful for him. Ethan was never very good at making friends, never outgoing and often blending into the background, so unsurprisingly he was mostly ignored in his new, much larger school. He kept up cheerful appearances at home, but the inability to fit in left him feeling lonely. Naturally he wasn’t looking forward to his second year of middle school and, on the night before his first day, found himself wishing on a star that he would make a friend. Of course nothing magical happened, but Ethan did notice that a kid in his new class seemed to be secluded and alone a lot too. After gathering up the courage to talk, Ethan would then meet Chase and the two would become very close friends.
Ethan developed his powers pretty early compared to most others which shocks him. He discovered them when home alone and trying to catch a cup of water before it fell off the table. He didn’t catch the cup, but he did notice he had somehow stopped the water in mid-air. His powers are water manipulation which includes the ability to pull water from the surrounding environment or create it himself. Passively he can also breathe underwater and move around much more freely.
When Cleodora is attacked Ethan is actually at home with his family. He and his family manage to get to safety, but he soon leaves the refugee camp to venture back into Cleodora hoping he can help more people. He especially hopes to find Chase who he’s certain hasn’t escaped yet. Eventually he comes upon his other friends, Nico and Ruka, and helps them escape the city. He’s unable to find Chase by the time a barrier is put up around the city, but has the feeling he might have escaped anyways and decides to go on a journey to find him and a way to stop these invaders. Nico and Ruka go along with him after discovering their own new abilities.
Ethan’s close friend who he met in middle school. After a recent move and finding it difficult to fit in Ethan noticed Chase also seemed to be alone often and reached out offering to become friends.
Ethan met Nico after Ruka introduced them. Nico was the one that taught him and Chase sign language in order to communicate with her better, and he later became a part of their friend group. Despite his maturity Ethan still sees him more as another younger brother and often tries to help him out with things.
Much like with Chase Ethan reached out to Ruka after noticing she didn’t have many friends to hang out with. The three of them became close friends in high school, and Ethan often looks after her because of her very timid nature.
