Profile
Lilith’s human father. Bazi was humanity’s sterling symbol of hope for millennia, chosen by divinity to do eternal battle with Nergal. Despite having been forgotten by the masses, including the goddess who appointed him in the first place, he’s holding up his end of the bargain even now... Well, depending on how one defines “battle.” Either way, this simple life in obscurity is far more pleasant than his previous one.

Bazi gives off an air of security, a warmth that draws people to him and seems to entice them to open up about their problems. Having traveled to every corner of the globe, depending on the hospitality of commonfolk and royalty alike when he wasn't surviving in the wilderness with a party of adventurers, he's humble, open-minded, and easy to trust. Age has taught him that he can’t be everyone’s personal savior, and while he’s happy to lend a helping hand or word of advice whenever he’s able, he usually encourages others figure out their own issues. Even so, he’s still quite fond of mentoring others and managing teams, and thus he naturally ends up in leadership roles.
From the moment his goddess arbitrarily plucked him out of the barley fields of Mesopotamia and declared that he would be her champion in the battle against the armies of Irkalla, Bazi was saddled with far more responsibility than any one person should have to carry. Though the power and renown were thrilling at first, as years turned to centuries and centuries turned to millennia, the questing and training and fighting and dying all began to bleed together. Things were different, but nothing ever changed. The cumulative effect of lifetimes upon futile lifetimes, which only intensified as time marched ever forward, hardened Bazi into a bitter, uptight man who resigned himself to solitude and refused others’ help. When it eventually occurred to Bazi that this life had twisted his deepest convictions into empty habits and nothing more, it shook him to his core. At this point he knew he needed to take a step back before he lost himself completely.
TEXT
Nergal [ husband ]
In the early days, Bazi really couldn’t figure Nergal out. But as one of the few constants in his life, the demon lord grew to be an odd source of comfort for Bazi. This goofy bastard had been right along with him since the very beginning, and when the Howling left him feeling lost, Nergal was the first person he wanted to see. He still regards it as one of his best decisions.
Lilith [ daughter ]
Bazi remembers having a great bond with Lili when she was little—wandering the orchard hand-in-hand, feeding the cows sweet oats together. He remembers things changing after her first molt, though she wouldn’t admit why until the next molt was over. Bazi can tell she’s been trying to open up to him more lately, but things are still awkward between them.
