Profile
A half-demon farmgirl who dabbles in magic and gets into many Shenanigans with her familiar Evelyn. She spent most of her adolescence inviting the world to burn, but she’s come to realize that ideology isn’t really fun or liberating like she thought it would be. Lilith’s world has been in a constant state of flux since then, a pitched tug-of-war match between the brain-melting horror of caring about other people and the knowledge that she can’t go back to her old ways now.

Growing up with Nergal and Baz as parents, Lilith had a very strong tradition of showmanship to follow, so she has an innate sense of how to give a good performance and can put on an air of confidence even if she doesn't actually feel it. It's rather difficult to get her to take anything seriously, which tends to grate on those around her. Lilith has habitually isolated herself and avoided getting into other peoples' business as much as possible since her preteen years, hiding inside a thick shell of sarcasm and insincerity, but since being forced to reassess that stance in the Pit, she's had to start the uncomfortable process of coming to terms with the fact that she does actually have genuine feelings. Lots of them!
Try as she might to remain cool and aloof, Lilith is rather sensitive to others; she's observant, having learned to detect subtle shifts in mood as well as her environment, so she'll almost always know when something is off, but whether she chooses to act or feign ignorance is much less certain. She's grown enough as a person to be able to step up to the plate for those she loves, but otherwise—if it's not a matter of urgency—she'll usually try to play dumb as long as she can and hope for it to resolve itself.
Lilith is the only child of Nergal, one of the Seven Demon Lords of Irkalla, and Albazi Bet Arad, the ancient human hero chosen by divine will to strike him down. As a little girl, there were few things Lilith loved more than her fathers' grand stories of their many adventures, but as she grew older the shine began to wear off from the fairytale world she'd thought she and her family lived in. Being a half-human, half-demon chimera stopped being a fun quirk when Lilith's first molt came and put her in the hospital for many months while her unstable form violently rejected nutrients, magic, and seemingly the entire concept of her existence.
If that weren't enough to shock her out of her idyllic childhood, it was in this same period that she really began to notice Baz and Nergal fighting for the first time. Fueled by the stress of her hospitalization, admiration quickly turned to terror for Lilith. Even after her health stabilized enough for her to be sent back home, these new doubts loomed large in Lilith's mind. As this paranoia grew, she began to construct false narratives in her head—she was an impulse, a mistake keeping her parents trapped on a dinky little farm in the middle of nowhere in a marriage that no longer made them happy, and they were only keeping up appearances until she was old enough to leave. Gone was the silly, bouncy little girl who chased chickens and rolled down hills; suddenly, Nergal and Baz had an emotionally absent preteen on their hands.
In the years that followed her first molt, Lilith became withdrawn, obsessed with growing up as quickly as she could. In her mid teens, she secretly took an internship with a shady independent company conducting research on the abyssal yawn that lay between the material planes—the decrepit sentient hell Lilith would come to refer to as only the Pit. Though the Pit's gloomy atmosphere threw her into a panic at first, she soon discovered she was impervious to the threats it presented—and beyond that, she felt oddly energized there, a warmth and vitality previously unknown to her. For a time, it became a sort of hideaway for Lilith; when the human world overwhelmed her, its quiet, dimly lit halls were always there for her to wander in silence and solitude.
That all went sideways, though, when Lilith had a chance meeting with a human so broken he couldn't even recall his own name, whose pathetic behavior shook her far more than anything she'd seen before. This encounter revealed the rotten core of the Pit to her, and it was only then that she realized this was not a place she should be fooling around in. Lilith couldn't bring herself to just abandon the pitiful human, but much to her dismay, she found he couldn't leave with her through the portal she'd created—and she knew that if she went alone and tried to return with help, she risked never being able to find him again. Left without any other options, Lilith and her new companion—who began calling himself Evelyn—set out together to find an exit, all while dealing with the sudden onset of her second molt.
Evelyn [ familiar ]
He's seen her ugly-cry, and barf, and spew blood like a busted faucet, yet mysteriously still wants to be around her. She’s glad for this, because he has her heart in a vice and she can’t stand to leave him alone. Lilith had no idea it was possible for someone to make her feel so happy and excited and afraid all at once. Far be it from her to vocalize any one of these feelings, much less the whole messy slew of them, but she takes care of him as best she can.
Nergal [ baba ]
For better or worse, Lili’s always been closer to Nergal. When she felt estranged from humanity, it was him Lili turned to, leaning on their bond for much needed comfort while secretly resenting his choices. She’s since realized how unhealthy this mindset was, but it was a formative part of her childhood nonetheless. Their relationship has become somewhat more… combative since she returned from the Pit.
Bazi [ dad ]
Lilith’s still making up for lost time with Bazi. He’s so candid that spending time with him just leaves her feeling guilty. She drifted apart from him in adolescence, not the screaming, seething sort of distance, but rather a cold, quiet detachment. She loves him, of course, and she knows he loves her just the same, but some little part of Lilith still tells her she isn’t worthy.
