Details

• Funnest fact: Andrew has existed for a while as a nondescript brother of Nessa who was in prison. He's received some more development over the years.
• I don't know if I'll be making a playlist for him like the rest of the characters because he is more minor. Either way, he likes classic rock, though he is similar to his sister in the sense he isn't particularly into music as a whole. Most of the time, he listens to it while he drives. Boz puts him onto various subgenres of rock when they get closer.
• *He is Kyrgyzstani, Indian, and Mexican (looked too long up there). His father is where he gets the former two, his mother is where he gets the latter. He understands vague amounts of Spanish, Hindi, and Kyrgyz (of which he knows the least), but can not speak any of them.
• He is frequently told how much he looks like his father.
• He drives a 2005 Silver Colorado Chevrolet.
• He has been diagnosed with ADHD, along with DMDD as a teenager.
• He doesn't really have any "real" friends. Still, before his incarceration, he hung around the same groups of people. They were mostly individuals of dubious profession, whether it be low-rate drug dealers or of similar petty criminal ilk. While his short temper and passive aggressive baseline was occasionally at odds with his "friends", he was easily recognizable as a loyal person and was often likened to a guard dog. You wouldn't pick your dog over your friends, but it would defend you nonetheless.
• He got his forehead scar from a fight.
• He was convicted of second degree burglary and spent five years in prison. He served the full time, having had minor infractions during his stay that interfered with his ability to be granted parole.
• He works as a bouncer at the only club in town. He held the job before his prison sentence, and was able to pick it up again upon his return. Though, there was only a brief time before his pursuits regarding the main cast interfered with his work schedule.

Personality

Andrew was a "troubled" child. He had a bad temper and would frequently act out against his parents and teachers. When he was younger, he was a bit more "sedated," but his issues worsened with time. Although he could be volatile, he was a mostly neutral person when not being actively provoked. He is a fiercely loyal person who is good to have around in any manner of situation. He is resourceful and exudes a sense of purpose, like he knows where he needs to be and has a reason for being there. He has a cold and indifferent mask, but truly wishes to "protect" those he cares about. He struggles with expressing this due to his general emotional ineptitude and lack of being taught how. He often comes across as passive aggressive and isn't good at approaching sensitive topics or asking invasive or personal questions.

Story

While somewhat loving, Andrew's parents were quite emotionally absent. They did their best to support their two children, but were often more work-focused than family-focused. As a result, Andrew developed a rebellious and disobedient mindset. His younger sister, Nessa, wasn't all that different from him, but she never went as far as him. Eventually, he got a prison sentence resulting from his "bad behavior." During his time spent there, Nes began to explore her gender. As a result, she abstained from visiting her brother, refusing to entertain the idea of him poking around her business while she felt so vulnerable. Her parents were curious why she was growing out her hair and wearing more feminine clothing, but they never felt inclined to involve themselves in that, worried that doing so would make her become more like her brother (as they had tried to steer his behavior, which only seemed to lead to his prison stay).

After being released from prison, Andrew was met with the sight of his supposed sister. Supposed, because he had no idea who he was looking at. Unlike his parents, who had become acclimated to her changing appearance over time, he was shown it all in one great burst, making it undeniable that his "younger brother" was now clearly a sister. Both the years wasted in prison and the years wasted during his prior emotional ineptitude led to him caring more about Nessa's life, involving himself in it a bit forcefully by first making her let him drive her and her friends to school. When she died, this directive of his only increased tenfold, becoming even more dedicated to checking in with her grieving friends and making sure they didn't suffer similar or relevant fates. When they run away, he actively pursues them, hoping to persuade them to return home before they get hurt.
