"I never judge a book by it's cover because sometimes there's a heart of gold hidden in the pages."

Eleanor Mae Fowler is a shy woman with a huge love for baking and an even larger heart for others. Her motherly instincts usually cloud her judgement, as she wants to help anyone and everyone, even if that might land her in hot water.

She has a fondness for fairy tales, especially ones where a prince sweeps a maiden off her feet. She's a hopeless romantic, and wishes to have a big family someday.

Due to her extremely strained relationship with her father, she changes her last name at one point back to her mother's maiden name, but never tells him.

She also doesn't know she's a witch, though she has always noticed odd things in her life happen when she wasn't looking. Objects she needed were closer, toys when she was younger would move on their own, etc.

Before Childhood

Her mother and father met serendipitously in school, and fell in love quickly. Agnes, her mother, came from a long line of witches, and was part of the local coven which healed and helped the community.

Agnes was a lot like her daughter, very soft and kind with strong motherly instincts. However her confidence was much higher, becoming the head of the coven for a while once graduating. She married John, and after three years of being married became accidentally pregnant. However, she never saw Eleanor as an accident, rather a miracle and her little one. She came from a very loving family, who supported her in everything.

However, John, was not so kind. In the beginning, he was of course, and an upstanding citizen. Coming from a not-so-large family of just him, his twin brother, and parents, he led a... semi-quiet lifestyle. Until suddenly his parents divorced, and his father went on to remarry an abusive drunkard. His father had won custody when his mother disappeared, and subsequently him and his twin brother, Jason, were abused at the hands of their step-mother. John grew to have hatred fester in his heart, while Jason recovered and became a kindhearted man. He didn't want to have kids, but when he found out Agnes was pregnant, he hoped for a son.

This caused a rift in the already fragile father-daughter relationship.

Childhood

When Eleanor was born, she was mostly raised by her mother. Due to this, Eleanor became mostly like her mother. Practically the only thing she shared with her dad was his brown eyes. She baked, cooked, sewed, and made things with her mother. John never rose his hand or abused either of them, and to outsiders he actually seemed like the perfect father and husband with a few flaws. Agnes, however, knew that in her heart John cared very little for Eleanor and when Eleanor reached her teen years, she was planning to divorce him. However, unfortunately, she became bedridden, and that turned into hospitalized.

Agnes Celine Fowler passed away due to Ovarian cancer a few months after Eleanor's thirteenth birthday.

It was like a switch had flipped in John, and he became cold and cruel to Eleanor. He retired from his job and took up drinking and gambling. Soon, the Trevett's became quieter folks and in due time Eleanor lost her confidence and outgoing spark. Only having so very few friends, Eleanor became even more self conscious and developed low self esteem. Eleanor developed a sort of Stockholm Syndrome for her father in fear he might one day go off the handle. Cooked, sew, baked, she basically became the woman of the household. By that I mean she was basically a housewife to John--though nothing you know happened, he was still mentally abusive and sometimes even nearly physical to Eleanor.
