Abilities

The Aoyama clan's abilities allow for rapid growth of plants and the summoning of others. Nanami specifically specializes in traps and is able to summon large Venus fly trap like plants to capture enemies and vines to restrain. Some plants are able to produce poisons or aromas to help in different situations.

About

Nanami was the first child born to Minoru, leader of the Aoyama clan of Konoha. The Aoyama clan is responsible for growing and maintaining a number of plants used for medicines or poisons for the Hidden Leaf Village. Their kekkei genkai also allows for summoning and rapid growth of certain plants.

Like most children from ninja clans, Nanami joined the Academy at a young age and was promoted to Genin not long after. As a generally friendly and likable person, she didn't have too much trouble getting along with her new teammates (though some made it harder than others). During the Chunin Exams, she excelled with natural knowledge in the Forest of Death. But, she does not receive a promotion to Chunin until her second try, at the next exam held after the Nine Tailed Fox's attack on the village (which she and her family spend a great matter of time and resources in partnership with medical ninja to help the wounded).

When things return to normal, Nanami works closely with Takeru-sensei on a series of high level tracking and interrogation missions. At first, they are far beyond her skill level and leave Takeru-sensei to do most of the work, but overtime she hones her abilities and is able to do the jobs needed. Time passes and Takeru-sensei admits to her that the intense missions and training were requested to test her abilities to possibly allow her to become a member of the Anbu. Nanami is in disbelief but then informs her teacher that she doesn't want to be a member of the Anbu, as much as an honor as it could be, as she doesn't see herself as heartless enough, among other reasons.

Nanami continues her life as a ninja, specializing in the retrieving of ninja who are to be brought to the village to be interrogated and/or imprisoned.
