RoleRoaming lightning god

Notes

  • Almost always has sparks of lightning coming from his fur, but the more emotional he is- the more aggressive it gets.
Personality

He's a trickster god, rather unpredictable and comes across as somewhat of a sarcastic jerk. He's very prickly and on first meeting will probably come across as rude or even cruel due to the fact he can't relate or grow very near to people and intentionally avoids it- He's constantly surrounded by bolts of electricity that shock those who get too close; causing him a lot of problems. Everyone he wanted to reach out to would flee from him, call him a demon, or be hurt(or even killed) , so he learned to be very independent and isolate himself by choice so as not to promote more harm to others. He will try his best to scare others off.

He can temporarily calm the lightning but not for very long. Especially if he gets angry or emotionally distressed.

He's in fact extremely fragile and his facade of being 'tough' and strong is more of a self-defense mechanism to protect himself from others and protect others from himself. By lashing out, he scares people away from trying to get close, and that way they aren't hurt. He struggles to accept himself, and views himself often as a monster, an uncontrollable storm who cannot revel in the chaos his presence brings.  He struggles with grief and remorse for causing problems for others, and hates the thought of anyone being harmed because he's foolish enough to try to be friends with them. He likes order, neatness, and hates to watch things fall apart- especially at his own hand. He pretends he isn't effected by things, though really he battles a strong amount of guilt and remorse at his own existence and feeling exempt in a world where he wishes he could feel a part of it. He's a big softie hiding behind a massive spiked wall screaming for help because he can't see a way out of the hole he's become trapped in.

He wants to find peace and calm, and be able to experience all the beautiful things in life. Behind a self-imposed cage, he sees so much of the world pass him by that makes the thoughts of experiencing such things all the sweeter and more desired. He loves the world, he's come to see that beyond its darkness and what people take for granted, there are so many amazing things that he just wants to share in. Which is why he's yet to have entirely given up hope in finding a solution to his predicament. He cheers himself up by keeping a mental list of all the things he'd like to do as soon as he could 'turn off' his unwanted barrier to the life around him.

He does have a good sense of humor and occasionally likes to trick others. Though, half of the time its just for a good laugh and he never gets carried away or legitimately harms anyone. He's easygoing, and entirely a pushover. Though many are put off by him, those who stick around long enough to see him past the rough exterior remember him fondly as kind and genuine, and with a heart as warm and loving as they come.

Trivia

  • Touching metal things will allow him to electrically charge or power them.
  •  He's rather skittish and his own lightning often startles him (either through noise or movement in his peripheral.) He tries hard to play it off.
  •  Its often hard for him to hear things due to the constant buzz noise of electricity near him, but he's really good at reading lips/reading other's emotions.
  •  If he gets too close to small electrical things (lightbulbs/ect) they will start to fizzle and probably pop or break, making it hard for him to enter any sort of powered buildings.
History

He was born from an experimental power plant failure that was testing creation of concentrated electrical storms to be harvested for reusable energy, however, the gods of the world detested the human's foolish foray into controlling the nature of the world itself, and decided to intervene. They sent the thunder god, Haokah, to the land and demanded he destroy the blight of humanities excursion. Though, given it his domain humans dare enter- he was infuriated in his own right and he did not need much sending to provoke him.

However, in the course of the fight he was overcharged, corrupted by the machines of these humans and their false-storms, and his body was ripped apart. He was, inevitably- (As most gods are), reborn into a new form, the form he has now. He recalls only vague snippets of his old life, but his memories were permanently damaged by the effects of the overcharge. But perhaps, in the end, its better for him. For he has turned from a prideful, manipulative god and brother to the god of War, to a quiet and understanding one who struggles only with feeling alone. His want for destruction is gone, and like the remains of a storm, his heart is purified and ready to grow again.

He doesn't remember anything of his children right now, though in his prior life they were his entire world. He occasionally has snippets of memory of them, but has no idea who they are. He does want/desire the feeling of a family that would help him to feel a part of something, unknowing to himself that that feeling is missing his family more than just never having one.

Haokah spends his new youth as a wandering and problematic lightning god that enjoys giving others a hard time. Unaware, that he has a former life before his death that he had forgotten upon his revival.

He eventually travels to an isolated mountain, seeking a place to hide entirely alone. Here he meets Storme, and he makes every effort to scare her off. Being the only other denizen of the mountain he figures if he can scare her away he'll have it to himself. What he doesn't anticipate is her extreme persistence and curiosity. She tries repeatedly to speak to him, despite being afraid of him, and they eventually become acquaintances and then friends. However, once he realizes that she- (as a minor storm god) is immune to his electricity, all of the walls fall and he gives up his facade of being aggressive.

They become deeper friends, uniting over their shared desire to be part of life and being alone, and from there become mates and dear partners. He is very protective and adoring of her, and makes every effort he can to cater to her every desire. She doesn't ask of much though, and just enjoys having his company. In return, she teaches him to control and utilize his skills to a better degree than he could before, and gives him hope. As he is spiritually reborn upon the mountain with her help, he starts to remember who he once was. Seeing what his pride did to him, and appreciating all that he has learned through losing his memory. He journeys with her from the mountain to explore the world, finally humbled by his own death, and more importantly to him- find the family he has lost.

Eventually he achieves this, finding his old castle and his daughter, Hurricane- who gathers her siblings to welcome their father home. The road to their forgiveness is long, but he approaches it with kindness and patience, able to be understanding when in the past he might have responded in anger. He brings his and Storme's children, Nimbus, Squall, and Tempest, along with her daughter, Raevynn, and the family decides to reside properly in the castle again, to Hurricane's delight.
