Eccentric certainly fits Astora. She's very much a loner who enjoys being by herself, just being. She abhors the hub-hub of the city, though a nice town or quiet village might suit her just fine. She's a very outspoken jader, and a bit abrasive at times. Astora isd short on words, but delivers them with pinpoint accuracy. She has a somewhat morbid sense of humor, which shocks those of her who get to know her - she acts so very prim and proper. She prefers however to let her body language do the talking - that's a jader's native language after all, and its a language that knows few barriers.

Astora is very much a lady. Dignity and grace are in her every step. Every action she takes is done carefully and with much foresight. She's a jader who enjoys the finer things, and isn't afraid of hard work to get them. She isn't against traveling hours to the edge of her territory to pick flowers from her chamomile plants, just so she can have a nice cup of tea in the mornings. She'll only do something because she enjoys it, or enjoys the outcome, and rarely does anything for the sake of other people. She makes the potions people request only because she feels she owes it to them.

Astora is a creator, who likes to make things. She's a very tactile jader, and loves to feel all the different textures of her home - the rough bark of the oak tree, the gentle rain snaking through her fur, the cool dead leaves crunching under her paws, the soft silky feel of a flower's petals tickling her nose. She tries to capture all these feelings in her glass works. She's not sure what compels her to do such things, to be honest. Her works rarely resemble anything , but touching them tells more of a story than the sight of them. Her real passion though, is plants. She is fascinated by them and how they each have their own quirks and personalities and stories. She encourages them to grow, but unlike most gardeners isn't interested in pruning them to be atheistically pleasing. She enjoys letting the plants grow into their own works of art; the sun is their muse, and the rain is their paint, and their stems and leaves the shining canvas upon which they paint out their desires. The wanton blossoms, the aspiring grass, the stately pines, and the endeavoring vine - each are old masters, whos teachings god back eons, and she could never come close to improving upon them.

Pegasus

[ lover ] Long, willowy Astora, and pudgy Pegasus are an odd couple. Astora's a no-nonsense hedgwitch, who has a black sense of humor, and an abrasive attitude. Pegasus is a sweet, friendly introverted storyteller, who hates conflict. Most jaders assume Pegasus is a pushover, but Astora knows better. Pegasus might not like direct conflict, but she knows how to get what she wants - and make sure you're happy with the result too!

Dandelion

[ familiar ] Dandelion is Astora's familiar. Their bond might not be magic, but it's still an important one. Dandelion wants everyone to know that just because she's a familar, it doesn't mean she has to be subservient to Astora. She's a very headstrong little bunny, and once she has something in her head she's not going to let it go for a long time. As a Spring Angel Jackalope she should be good with flowers, but Dandelion prefers her chemistry set to the garden. She is fascinated by alchemy, and has a natural talent for detecting posion. Every potion and herb that Astora makes you can be sure gets Dandelion's stamp of approval.

5989529_HQ0AWYIMTuynzPb.pngStory...

5989726_ZS2jA321O3zHMnH.png" Without even thinking about it, I used to be able to fly. Now I'm trying to look inside myself and find out how I did it. "5989726_ZS2jA321O3zHMnH.png

Astora was the beloved companion of a halfborn witch for many years. Her mistress was much disliked whereever she traveled on account of her mixed blood, but she found some acceptance in the form of an old Mystic woman, who taught her witchcraft and herb work. At the time Astora was living as a nomad, traveling on the edge of the Mystic's camp, eating scraps. Underneath the grime of the road it was clear to all that this jader was a noble lady in search of something. The halfborn approached her and reluctantly Astora let her put her hand on her head and stroke her ears. She let the woman scratch her chin and ate from her hand, and allowed her to place beaded necklaces over her, bedecking her as befit a regal lady. When the halfborn woman left, Astora went with her.

They traveled until they came upon a forest. Far away from the loud and accusatory townspeople the witch set up her home just inside the border of the Endless Forest, where she knew no one would disturb her. There she taught Astora about the way of witchcraft. Though her and her pet struggled to create magic themselves, they harnessed the magic of the forsest around them to craft potions and poultices. They harvested wood to sell, and those who dared sometimes approached for healing medicenes and love potions.

After her mistress passed on, Astora took up the mantle of the Green Witch. Humans and animals alike leave gifts at the pond on the edge of her woods, and the next day find there the potion that they needed. Over the pond they tie rags and scarps of fur or feathers as notes of gratitude and goodwill; leaving a riotous splash of color that stands out in the dead of winter, only to be swallowed again come summer. Few have need of a witch during summer after all. But tread too far, or take what you're not given and tempt a witchs' wrath. Witch lights dance just beyond the edge of the wood, and strange plants seem to reach towards trespassers with grasping fronds.

The witch pond was where she met her familar Dandelion, a bold little jackalope who hid amoung the gifts and waited to catch sight of the notorious witch. Astora laughed when the little lapin told her that everyone thought she was an ugly, scary, old crone who ate the heads off of little baby bunnies. Astora confessed that the only meat she eats is what people and animals leave her as gifts, but that she prefers the carrots in her garden. The bunny sat up straight away, nose twitching. Did someone say carrots? Ever since Dandelion has been Astora's faithful companion. Astora didn't realize just how lonely she was getting without her mistress, and Dandelion certainly helped to heal the hole in her heart. It was Dandelion who opened the witch's cottage again - Astora hadn't been in there in years - with Pegasus's help of course. And inside they found - well, that's another story altogether.

As for Astora, she tends the old greenhouse deep in the wood. It is overflowing with plants and wildlife. In particular Astora is most insterested in endangered and extinct varieties of plants, which she carefully breeds in her greenhouse. She then ransfers the small sprouts out into the forest. The forest is full of her witch lights - which are actually little glass orbs she crafts to place over these young shoots so they won't be distrubed before they're grown. Her mistress taught her how to care for plants and how to work her magic to form the glass.
