Nickname aside, Theo is very far from actually being daft at all, but struggles with actually expressing his intelligence. Past ill-treatment left him with severe anxiety, and even before that he tended to do his best to avoid difficult situations. Autism isn't a well-known issue among his peers, which doesn't help.
