Blackthorn was a cat of the ancient Tribe of the Dawning Sun, predecessor to Dawnclan. He had no siblings, and had a fairly normal kithood and apprenticeship. As a warrior he worked his hardest to help the tribe, but an idea wormed its way into his head: hadn't the rest of the tribe done him wrong? He had few friends, and his parents had never been particularly attached to him. It seemed that his mentor challenged his every move, despite him being a fully fledged warrior now, as if she was worried he'd snap and do something dangerous. Multiple cats would regularly reach out to him and offer their companionship, yet he would decline in favour of alone time. He soon found that he couldn't take this life of isolation any more, and snapped. With only his closest friends, they hatched a plan whichw as quickly set into motion.

It began with Blackthorn's mentor. One day she disappeared, never to be seen by the rest of the clan again. Of course, Blackthorn and his gang knew what had happened to her. More cats began to disappear as time went by. When most of their strongest opposition had been dealth with they made their move to take over the clan. The current leader was murdered in camp by Blackthorn and he took over as de facto leader. Their Starclan refused to recognise him as leader, so he kept his warrior name and ruled over the tribe with an iron fist.

As would be expected of a coup like this, a resistance began to form, led by Tigerblaze. After some moons of preparation and Blackthorn's futile attempts to work out what they were planning, they rose up and challenged Blackthorn and his followers to battle. Tigerblaze, as the leader of the revolution, challenged Blackthorn himself to a duel. The result of this was both of their deaths. With both sides lacking a leader and many dead, the cats lost the will to fight and the tribe dissolved, with nobody wanting to take over as their new leader. Blackthorn was sent to the Dark Forest for his actions, and he regrets none of it.

Blackthorn is a tall, broad-shouldered black tom with white flecks on his chest and shoulders, and dark green eyes. A faint red glow surrounds him and he is slightly transparent due to his place in the Dark Forest. His pelt is heavily scarred, though there are only a few that show through his fur. His pelt is always immaculately groomed and shiny, since he keeps up personal appearances due to his somewhat egotistical disposition.
