Through her childhood she and her little brother Valentin helped their mother run their family bakery, but over tome she decided to pursue greater adventure in the city.
She worked in a small coffee shop there for a while before finding a more interesting job working as a messenger and assistant for a well known shipping company, essentially sorting letters and delivering some on foot. One day her cat, Phoebe, ate something funny that granted her magic powers, including the ability to talk. Since then, their lives have been anything but normal.
Claire is friendly, a bit sassy, determined, stubborn, short but stronk. She loves adventure and gets herself into trouble at times. In the world she lives in, studying magic is considered a serious crime, so she has to keep her cat and knowledge a secret while she slowly learns about the hidden world within the city.
Brooke is her neighbor and closest friend, and the two get together whenever they can.
She's childhood friends with Jules and used to have a bit of a crush on him, though his position as a captain makes her avoid him out of fear of him finding out about her involvement with magic. She's met Nicolaus on a couple occasions which usually leads to snarky banter as they're both stubborn hot heads, though his laid back attitude makes her feel a little less tense than she does around Jules.
