an introvert under the guise of a sorta popular, cool-guy extrovert.

As a child, he was shamed (and abused) for his shyness, introversion, and anything considered by his (horrible, awful) father to be "feminine" or "weak." he learned to play roles, fit into whatever shoes he was expected to fill in any given situation.

In his most natural, comfortable state, he is quiet and even-tempered, enjoys nature, music, games, and relaxation. He loves things that he can just chill out and exist with. Puzzles, guitars, a brisk night breeze.

In his mask, he's... kind of a big douche, often falling into a jockish role. He was a literal jock throughout his schooling and it seemed to be what made people show any sort of respect to him, so he doesn't really grow out of that until later.

STORY

Luca has two main storylines. Both have the same roots- he grew up with a shitty, toxic masculinity and alcohol-fueled, abusive father. His mother stayed around when he was younger but eventually fled, abandoning him. He grows up as an oblivious Leliel's childhood best friend and moves in with him as soon as he has the means. Elian moves in with them eventually as well, making the three of them roommates. He has a lot of trauma, mental, and emotional issues from his childhood but refuses to show 'weakness' or seek any sort of help until he eventually has a breakdown, skipping town, developing substance abuse issues (he had previously had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and drugs, enabled by Zi, but it really gets bad when he skips town)

In the Whoever We Become storyline, his sort of "canon," he ends up hospitalized after an overdose and, once stabilized, transferred to inpatient care for his mental health issues. The turning point for him is realizing that if he cannot live like this. He has to change something or nothing's ever going to change. Luca goes through a slow, turbulent, but determined recovery process with the support of Leliel and Elian. The three of them end in a poly triad. In the roleplay storyline with a close friend of mine, Luca gets kicked out of a bar into an alley, at absolute rock bottom, where Avi finds him and takes him in. (Story in progress.)
