Leliel is an extroverted, energetic, flamboyant guy. He lives his life by law of (sometimes forced) optimistic nihilism. He doesn't want to waste a minute. This really lights his fire and keeps him going, moving, loving, but it also makes him anxious. He's terrified of wasting his life. He wears a mask of unwavering optimism, bottling any negative emotions because he doesn't want to spend time "dwelling in them" (read: addressing them at all, on any level) and because he feels the need to be a strong, supportive anchor for his loved ones. He boils over every once in a while, leading to large breakdowns, which he tries to hide and deal with himself. This isn't to say his enthusiasm is entirely fake- he really does love life, he just doesn't really address his negative emotions ever. He is the adopted only child of a very supportive and lovely nonbinary couple who raised him to be free and expressive in whatever way makes him happy, but their own optimistic nihilism rubbed off on him in a way that is sometimes harmful. They're good people and they legitimately did their best for him, but no parent is perfect..

STORY

Whoever We Become storyline (canon): Leliel is the childhood friend of Luca and is unwaveringly loyal to him, having harbored feelings for him for a long time. When Luca leaves, Leliel has a breakdown, everything sort of hitting him at once. He shuts down completely. In the recovery arc, he tentatively begins to learn how to communicate his feelings and that he doesn't need to be this anchor all the time, he's allowed to have his own emotions.

Roleplay storyline: Soulmate au. Leliel still rooms with Luca, but doesn't pursue him. Leliel meets Zari when the latter comes into the diner he works at one night. Leli is immediately taken with him but is troubled by his past and the struggles he deals with because of it. He wants to show Zari how to love life again. (Story in progress.)
