Confident
Aikoro is bold, strong-willed, adventurous, and chaotic. She'll go headfirst into any situation if she's determined enough, certain that she wil be able to make things go her way--at least, that's the image she projects, even if it's not always how she feels. She's very sassy and flirtatious, especially with Zasekira. She's talkative, extroverted, always showing off and seems to be in full control.
Closed Off
Despite how extroverted and open she seems, she's actually very closed off. She will never share anything about herself: what she likes, her goals, her past. She'll get you to talk plenty about yourself, know you inside and out, but she won't share a single thing about herself. She also won't allow herself to get close to or emotionally attached to anyone. It's easier, that way, if she has nothing to lose, nothing to hold her back. And even if she did allow herself to love, she knows she would only ever hurt them.
Vengeful
Aikoro has a single-minded and strong determination to avenge the family and culture that the Kialians massacred. She has spent the past few years hunting down each and every officer and soldier involved in the genocide and making them pay, since she's the only one who can bring justice to her dead family. She also brings destruction to Reah'Kiali at large, since the whole nation believes the genocide was justified. She wants to burn Reah'Kiali, burn the world to the ground, and there is nothing that can stop her.

Story
tl;dr: Aikoro twice survived the genocide of her people and went on to cause destruction and bring her revenge.
Please note that even this is a relatively brief synposis and doesn't capture a lot of the nuance, so if you want to know more just ask me and I'll be happy to infodump :]
Home & the First Killing
Aikoro grew up in Tainsrik, a small mountain village, surrounded by a large family and loving community, who made a blissful living in the mountains. They were hardy people, steadfast, and cared deeply for each other, although they kept mostly to themselves.
However, the Kialians believed that the mountains were theirs, because it was the place where they were closest to the gods and their place of origin. There were very few actual resources in the mountains, and a small population, so the Kialians had nothing to gain from ruling them. They thought the mountain tribes were desecrating sacred land, and so sought to completely wipe them out, and had done so for hundreds of years.
Tainsrik knew the Kialians would come eventually, but they thought they'd have more time. They thought if they kept their heads down, the Kialians would ignore them. But the Kialians came anyways, with superior technology and manpower. Tainsrik put up a good fight for several years, shaping 9-year-old Aikoro's experiences and views. It didn't matter; the Kialians won. They completely razed Tainsrik, murdering every last person in a span of several days, often in cruel ways. Aikoro witnessed much of it. She was only saved when some of the Kialians threw Aikoro and a few of her cousins into the wilderness, believing they would quickly die from the harsh winter.
The Mountains & the Second Killing
Aikoros and her cousins struggled for months, surviving from their knowledge of the landscape and what little scraps they could use. Starving, exhausted, broken, they continued on until at long last they found a village that had yet to be conquered. Only Aikoro and one other cousin, Manso, made it there alive.
They were welcomed to the new village and made a home there, even finding a distant relative. A few years passed, where Aikoro and Manso tried to ready the village for the Kialians. It wasn't enough. It would never be enough. The Kialians came, but this time, at least Aikoro was able to fight, and did so bravely. Manso did as well, and lost his life doing so. Yet again, though, the Kialians won, and yet again, they massacred the village. Aikoro would have gone down with them, but that would be letting the Kialians win. Someone had to bring them justice. Someone had to make them pay.
Reah'Kiali & the Third Killing
She travelled on for some time. She survived off of stolen wares and the skills she'd gained in those winter months. She was all alone. Yet, in a way, wasn’t that freeing? There was no one left for her to worry about, no one left to die. She had nothing left to lose.
She joined some criminal organizations, but none of them really satisfied her. They were all too focused on petty things like wealth and power, not on taking down their oppressors. She still kept in good favor.
Eventually she found Dakota’s crew. They took her in, gave her a place to stay, and had a mutual goal of toppling Reah'Kiali. However, they were a bit too ineffective for Aikoro; she was itching for more. And maybe, though she would never admit it, she was starting to grow attached to them. Eventually she left them, although she still stayed allied with them. She was on her own again, but at least this time it was on her own terms. It was freedom, not exile. She started attacking Reah’Kiali. Bombing buildings, temples, seats of power. Not too effective, but they spread a message. She started killing officials, mainly those involved in the murder of her people. She made a name for herself, someone who thrived on chaos and destruction.
Inferno & Every Next Killing
Someone started to counter her. An unseen shadow, throwing wrenches into her plans, reducing her damage, even foiling some of her ploys. Aikoro caught her; it was Zasekira, employed by Reah'Kiali. Their interactions turned into a sort of game, action and reaction, as Aikoro sought to destroy and Zasekira sought to protect. Aikoro constantly flirted and played with Zasekira, yet gained some respect for someone who came even halfway to besting her.
Time went on, the two gained feelings for each other. Yet, despite her constant flirtations, Aikoro would never let Zasekira in. Zasekira, on the other hand, was falling fast, and much more open to a relationship despite her more reserved exterior.
At the same time, they both encouraged the worst in each other. Of course, Zasekira’s involvement meant Aikoro had to get more creative and more destructive with her plans. Meanwhile, Aikoro’s recklessness led Zasekira down an increasingly destructive path herself in her attempts to stop her, often leaving just as much collateral damage as Aikoro. Zasekira's thin veil of loyalty slipped away, and after Reah'Kiali threatened imprisonment, she finally joined Aikoro.
Aikoro warned Zasekira that she would only ever hurt her, that she could never love Zaseira because she wouldn't give anythign else to Reah'Kiali, that she will burn down the world and Zasekira will go down with it, no matter how much she loves her. Yet Zasekira loves her, and the two lesbians go on to destroy the world together, leaving nothing but destruction in their wake.
Aikoro hunts down each and every Kialian who was involved in the genocide and finally brings justice, killing them in ways just as cruel as the ones they used against her family. She can't stop, won't stop, because this is all she has. When she finds the last commander, what will she do then? It doesn't matter. She will tear this whole world down. The flames will engulf her.
Playlist
The Crane Wives - Tongues and Teeth
"I know you burn with feelings I cannot return, my dear."
"I will poison all your happy thoughts / I will love you like the ashes in my cigarette box."
"Tongues & Teeth" is the main theme song of Aikoro and Zasekira, and the primary inspiration for their story, personalities, relationship, and interactions.
Mother Mother - Oleander
"I play with fire, I burn you right out."
Aikoro will be destructive, will burn the world down, and Zasekira will be right there with her. Also describes Zasekira and how she needs that bright spark of Aikoro in her life, craves that chaos, and wouldn't know what to do without Aikoro
Will Wood - 6up 5oh Cop-Out (Pro/Con)
Basically all of the chaos of Aikoro, running from the police/government and having a great time, all while doing very illegal things.
The Crane Wives - The Garden
This song describes more of her earlier story, from exile in the mountains to surviving the second massacre. She was hurt and just wanted someone to help her, wanted to both love her now-dead family and forget what happened to them. In the end, she decided the only thing she could do was burn it all down and take revenge.
AViVA - GRRRLS
How Aikoro is all on her own and doesn't want anyone else. She hates them all, loathes the Kialians, and doesn't want anything but their screams. Their own ignorance killed her family, and now she paves a path to a future where she rules the flames and can kill them all.
Poor Man's Poison - Hell's Coming With Me
Very much Aikoro's story, of being the only survivor while the Kialians laughed at her. They would cover up the horror of the atrocities and pretend it was good. But Aikoro, long forgotten, would come back for her revenge. She would kill those who once nearly killed her and bring justice to the world.
MARINA - Oh No!
Revenge is all Aikoro has. It is the only thing that fuels her, the only reason she still bitterly lives. She knows exactly why she's like this, and she made herself this way. This is what she wants. She will destroy herself. She doesn't want love, she doesn't want to be stopped, she just needs this. Also vibes.
I will love you as the wildfires love the autumn weeds, as the flame loves the moth, as the only way a searing blaze knows how. Please stay away. You're beautiful. I love you. It won't be enough to save you. I don't want to see your face when the world burns down.
Thank you for taking me in, for giving me a place to stay. But it's pointless. You're not doing enough. The only way to save them is to burn it all down.
