Little is known about James past and he doesn't like talking about it. He grew up in these poorer and awfuls districts in the city, where everyday struggles for survival, food and drugs were fought. James, however, without being influenced by the environment, he break out of this toxic environment. He tried to lay down a good life somehow and even it came out, especially when he went to the army. He served for a few years during which he met Oliver. He soon began to give him interest and affection. However, as a senior of Oliver and that they were in the army, it was not good to show it too much. They were with each other until the "death" of Oliver, what very much shook James. He was bothered by the fact that Oliver was not even being a funeral, but he had no right to interfere. He served for half a year, but then he left the army. He enlisted as a detective for the police and mainly deals with searching for people and getting information. He quickly fell into the routine and indifferent to the harm done to other people. While searching for one person, he fell into quite a lot of trouble. He was caught by a gang and detained. He managed to escape thanks to an internal quarrel and a fight in a gang that ended in the explosion of their headquarters-warehouse. James was within range and was hit hard enough - he lost his hand and part of his face.

Oliver During the service, they were lovers, but due to Olivers "death" they lost contact. Oliver never told James that he is alive, he thoughts that James could have made a life with someone else, after all, it's been two years. They passed by accident once on the street and James did not recognize him at first. Ever since he knows that Oliver is alive, he is trying hard to keep in touch with him. He still loves Oliver, but he is no longer positive love. He wants to regain Oliver more as his property than as a beloved person.
Leonidas They stick with each other, although they are not some great friends. James sometimes helps them in missions and gives information that he himself has or has from Chris.
Sophie James knows her by sight, because sometimes he gives her and Leo various information etc.
Chris James recognizes the respect Chris has for him. Jamese thinks about Chris as a little child, who shouldn't be a spy.
