Shane Bady

Personality

Shane is an inherently standoffish and asocial individual who heavily prioritizes his peace and privacy. While he doesn't bear hatred or anger towards most others around him, he tends to come off as hostile in the face of social interaction, as he feels no need to feign politeness regardless of the relationship or situation. He borders on the definition of a recluse, as he prefers not to leave his home unless necessary and instead projects all of his focus onto his unique profession. His empathy is difficult to rouse and he pays little attention to any endeavors outside his personal sphere.

Background

As a child, Shane remained introverted and heavily focused on personal tasks, but was far less reclusive and aggressive. He grew up alongside his identical twin brother, Marcl, and while the two had rather opposing personalities, Shane cared heavily for his brother and prioritized his safety, often coming to his defense when needed and protecting him through mutual isolation. When their father passed, Shane poured an additional amount of focus into taking over his work, and his interest in weaponry grew to an obsessive extent.

When he and Marcl were ten years old, they attended a camping trip alongside members of Jillian and Kurt's families. Disaster struck when Shane ingested poisoned water from an unknown source, causing him to experience severe delirium and hallucinations. In the midst of this mental decline, he used the gun he had brought on the trip to shoot several members of Jillian's family and one of Kurt's, causing the latter to die before Shane was ultimately incapacitated. At the hospital, he lapsed into a coma that lasted nearly a year while the other victims attempted to come to terms with the aftermath. 

When he finally awoke, he not only suffered permanent side effects of his initial poisoning, but was forced to deal with the fact that a variety of his family members and friends felt resentment towards him for the trauma he had caused. He struggled to recuperate as a result, and he began to isolate himself heavily, looking to his prior obsession for solace despite the violence it had contributed to.

While he and Marcl grew distant over the following years, his feelings towards his brother never changed. Marcl, on the other hand, felt an uncertainty and concern for his declining brother and took comfort in Jillian, who had grown to absolutely loathe Shane for what he'd done. Shane easily returned this hatred and sought to protect his brother from Jillian's influence, ultimately tailing him to Jessica's dimension when the time came. 

Extra

-He developed a terrible stutter following his coma.

-He has trouble managing his aggression and occasionally throws violent tantrums, usually causing damage to his home in the process.

-He's physically quite strong, allowing him to lift and use heavy weaponry with ease.
