Oriane

Oriane (Aw-Ree-En) “sunrise” in Latin. Design notes: - Birthmark on forehead -Dark circles under eyes and wrinkles (about 55) - Long ginger hair - Green eyes - Always dressed modestly and mostly covered up in all manners of expensive finery including fur. - Slim to mid build - Lesbian Catholic (bad at both) - Plays the Lute - French.

Originally brought up by an ordinary family in the 14th century, she left her humble prospects to join a travelling circus where she became a fortune teller. After she grew tired of that life she left in the night to seek refuge in a beguine (like a less strict nunnery) where she quickly rose among the social hierarchy with her wit and cunning. .

She became an excellent healer during her time there. Then. Once again. She became dissatisfied and broke her vows and began perusing wealthy men after the beguine mysteriously burnt to the ground (with Agnes inside). When she finally met a suitable match (an elderly baron) she simply bided her time playing the good wife until he died when she inherited his estate. She was now Baroness Oriane and chose not to use her last name once she was a widow.

Relationships - Abandoned her parents and isn’t in contact - Fell in love with Agnes in the beguine. She tried to kiss her and was promptly slapped across the face and threatened by Agnes. Oriane’s heart was shattered and she never loved again. - Cassian. A castrato (castrated man at a young age) who sang in the local cathedral. His voice was so beautiful Oriane became entranced. She was never in love with him but the two became close friends.
