Kenshin's main goal in her life, is to be the Champion of her region, and as such she is hard-working and strict on herself, being a lot more relaxed and friendly to her Pokemon, but never slacking off on their training. Due this, she is able to gain power quickly, and to become a powerful person herself, as not only she trains her Pokémon but trains herself in keeping her Aura skills honed or even practices martial arts regularly. She is introduced as a stubborn, fearless and rash Trainer, as well as a knowledgeable trainer, and once people get to know her, they realize that Kenshin is actually a kind and hyperactive person, even though this side is noticeable towards her Pokemon.

Charizard ♂

• Brief Description: Charizard is Kenshin's starter Pokemon and her first official one, and has been with her ever since before she started her journey. As a Charmander, he was found by Kenshin injured near her home in Celadon City, and was tended by her until he regained his health. In the ORAS chapter, Charizard is revealed to have gained the ability to Mega Evolve.

Glaceon ♀

• Brief Description: Kenshin and Charmander met Eevee in Mount Moon, when they stopped for the night, and the Eevee tried to steal some of their food, which woke up Kenshin. Eevee realized that Kenshin had a light sleep and spent the whole night tormenting her and Charmander for fun. It wasn't until between the Emerald and HeartGold & SoulSilver chapters that she evolved into Glaceon, during Kenshin's travels in Sinnoh.

Lucario ♂

• Brief Description: Lucario was given to Kenshin in Iron Island, by Riley, as an egg, after the Aura Guardian saw Kenshin's potential with her aura and invited her to become an Aura Guardian. It is revealed that in a year, the egg not only hatched into a Riolu but also evolved into Lucario. In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire chapter it is revealed that Lucario is capable of Mega Evolution, shown that Kenshin and Lucario worked hard together to the point of Lucario being able to power up significantly in such a short time.

Gengar ♂

• Brief Description: Despite being caught as an Haunter on the Pokémon Tower, Gengar actually met Kenshin as a Gastly, when she was very young and still living in Celadon with her parents. He used to haunt the room next to Kenshin's bedroom and at some point, Kenshin's room as well. He quickly realized that Kenshin was sad and lonely and as such Gastly befriended Kenshin and became her friend, and rescued her a few times for her parents' wrath by working in the shadows to protect her. As Gengar, he is often used by Kenshin for sneak attacks and as her backup, and is currently attempting to Mega Evolve alongside Gallade.

Garchomp ♂

• Brief Description: Garchomp was captured as a Gible in Wayward Cave, during Kenshin's travels in Sinnoh, as they were trying to reach Eterna City. This Gible latched onto Hinoshi's head and refused to let go, causing a mess on the cave, which made a few rocks fall on their path, trapping them in the Wayward Cave. Upon some convincing, Gible finally helped Kenshin and Hikari by eating the rocks that were blocking the way, but ended up biting onto Glaceon's tail and refused to let go, forcing Kenshin to catch him in order to force him to let go of Glaceon.

Arcanine ♂

• Brief Description: Arcanine was captured on Route 7 as a Growlithe, during Kenshin's travels to obtain her badges, and Growlithe seemed a powerful Pokémon. Ever since then, he trained hard to become a powerful Pokémon and a powerhouse in Kenshin's team. Arcanine is often used for tracking and for land transport, however he is able to hold his own against several Pokémon at the same time, and even against Legendary, and has excellent team work specially with Luxray.

Luxray ♂

• Brief Description: Kenshin met Luxio as a Shinx in Fuego Ironworks after he challenged Glaceon for a battle. However, they were interrupted by Akiyama's grunts whom were attempting to take control of the Fuego Ironworks and the Pokémon around for their research. Shinx saw Kenshin and her Pokémon battling and wanted to join, and by being commanded by Kenshin and fighting, he evolved into Luxio, and after winning he decided to join Kenshin's team. He is very wary of the other party members, but gets along well with Arcanine and has excellent team work with him.
