Heightened Senses

Being a hybrid, Aaron has the heightened senses of an aardwolf. His eyesight is well enough that he can comfortably navigate through the dark. He has a keen sense of smell and acute hearing. However, being in large, populated areas can be overwhelming to his delicate senses and can make it very tricky to navigate and think properly. He can become easily distracted and in more extreme situations, become increasingly distressed and flighty. To mitigate these issues, he often wears a hooded shawl and mask to reduce his senses.

Positives

Aaron is an incredibly laid back person, quite tolerant and open-minded. Generally positive and happy, easy to be around and has a knack for making conversation and getting himself involved with people. He has a passion for learning about people and cultures and while he may not retain practical knowledge in regards to skills such as combat and magic, he retains knowledge in places and people. He has quite the memory for faces and personal details, even if he may not have seen that person in a while, and he often only needs to visit a place once to be able to map the layout of it in his mind. Tends to have a lot of connections, as well as knowledge regarding the shadier/underground areas of towns.

He can be quite confident in his natural abilities at making friends and easing into conversation, as well as feel quite confident in navigating and knowing his surroundings. He is also keenly aware of others’ emotions with his heightened senses and is quite empathetic; he is aware of his, and other’s, limitations and adjusts his personality accordingly based on who he is with.

Aaron has a passion for travelling, and with it, a devious sense of adventure. Sometimes, it’s just fun to con a merchant or cause a little mayhem. And sometimes, it’s really quite enjoyable to sneak or break into places he isn’t welcome. Aaron is always on the move, always looking for new places and people to meet, but always tends to return to his hometown after every adventure.

Negatives

His easy-going personality comes at a price. His blithe attitude can be seen as a negative, as occasionally, he enjoys breaking the rules. He can also be too unworried about situations, making him come across as irresponsible and uncaring at times. When it comes to time, as well as his own self-motivation and goals, he is incredibly leisurely, taking things at his own pace. Unhurried, no real rush or sense of urgency in most day-to-day situations.

He can also be quite spontaneous when the impulse strikes and often has no real plan in mind. He takes everything (including sudden devious impulses) in stride as it comes, never really one for planning or proper consideration.

Aaron is also quite skittish when it comes to tense or overwhelming situations. He has a flight response to hostility and, while he has sharp claws, is not a fighter by any means. He prefers to dissuade tense situations by using charm or deception.
