Amber is a witch apprentice with an affinity for divination and healing magic. Their immediate family are cartomancers and magicians, and so they too have inherited their parents' natural gift with magic. It comes to them as easy as breathing, and they share a close connection with the world around them. They are highly receptive to the auras of other people and are more attuned to the spiritual realm than most. They are drawn to cartomancy, and feel a strong connection to the guardians and the cards that depict them.

History
Amber was raised as a single child in the grand city-state of Haldrenlic. Their mother is a skilled cartomancer and their father is a skilled tradesman with an affinity for fire magic. Their parents travelled often and were usually away for months at a time. Still, they maintained a good relationship with their parents, who, when home, would divvy up their time teaching Amber the basics of magic and card reading.
Amber was instantly drawn to the cards and spent much of their time studying their mother's old decks and tomes regarding cartomancy. The spiritual realm was a fascinating subject for Amber, and they spent their time home alone reading about the lore behind each guardian, pouring over field notes and dusty, ancient books, drawing tarot cards and trying to interpret what they meant and what they were saying to them.
