Aislind is a 1000-year-old traveling draconic librarian, and they're not about to let you forget it any time soon.

Aislind is personable, loves knowledge and learning, and doesn't mind going out of their way to help others. They love talking about books with others and doing their best to uncover new truths. That said, their curious nature leads them to be a bit nosy, and they often pry into others affairs just a little bit more than they should. At the very least, their intentions are never bad, and they aren't too proud to apologize for any wrongdoings.

Extremely proud of being a Dragon Laguz, a race that's rather rare in their universe, Aislind goes to great lengths to keep up their ethereal and ancient reputation--they frequently emphasize how old and wise they are, despite being the draconic equivalent of a 20-year-old. Because of this, they tend to keep a distance between themself and others, and take a while to become close enough to drop the act. Once they do, they are caring and loyal to a fault, if a bit less perfect than they pretend to be.

Growing up in a town fairly secluded from the mainland, Aislind was a bit of a nerd growing up--they spent years and years poring over books, having little else to do with their time. They adored learning more, and were always overly curious and filled to the brim with questions. Once they became an adult, they became determined to see the world with their own eyes, and obtain and exchange information with others. With their own collection of books of various uses and rarities, they set off as a "Traveling Librarian", bringing books to people across the continent to borrow and seeing as much as they could along the way.

Several hundred years after setting out, they mysteriously lose their ability to access their dragon form, and become obsessed with keeping it a secret to maintain their reputation. Just a couple years after that, while seeking to meet with a client for a book return, they end up in possession of a vulnerable Moth Laguz Cocoon that they realize needs to be returned to its home. Already traveling for their own purposes, and genuinely wanting nothing bad to happen to it, they decide embark on a short quest to return it, which ends up leading into a much greater ordeal to take on.

Along the way, a companion that they are traveling with restores their ability to transform... but at a cost: Aislind's body is now covered in various locations with small crystals made of magical energy. They ache slightly to the touch, but it doesn't bother them too much, and they are incredibly grateful to be able to transform again.

 Design

Aislind puts a lot of effort into their appearance, the most immediately noticeable of which is their hair, which is a muted green, voluminous, wavy mass that reaches just past their waist and takes about an hour to sort out every morning. Their goal is generally to look as ethereal as possible, and they put a lot of effort into looking effortless. They tend to dress in cool colors, especially greens and blues, with accents of gold.

After regaining their ability to transform, much of their body is covered in tiny, blue crystals--they are densest on their face, especially the two almost horn-like protrusions that emerge from their forehead. Other clusters are located on their cheeks, neck, shoulders, and hips.

Aislind is a shifter, and can transform into an impressively large teal dragon.
