Skills and Proficiencies

• Animal Handling
  • Hatchet has always been an animal person even at a young age; even without using magic he seems to be able to communicate with all sorts of creatures.
• Athletics
  • Growing up in a village where he was expected to pull his own weight compounded with his years as a mercenary has left him strong and sturdy.
• Insight
  • He’s generally very good at reading people. Sometimes struggles to tell if someone is outright lying, but can very easily discern their general intention.
• Intimidation
  • Not strictly a result of being a half-orc, but also in the way he carries himself. (He doesn’t see it in himself but is quite amused when people comment on it.)
• Nature
  • Hatchet is pretty knowledgeable about local flora and fauna and is quick to pick up basic info about any he hasn’t encountered previously.
• Survival
  • When not actively performing merc work, he hunts to provide for himself and (discreetly) the family he’s left, and as a result is an excellent tracker.

  • His first language. Speaks, reads, and writes fluently.

  • ”Second” language if only because he doesn’t get to speak it as often. Speaks, reads, and writes fluently.

  • Somewhat of a hidden talent; uses it to appear intimidating. Speaks fluently; reads a little slow and writes even slower.
• Elvish
  • Novice speaker; speaks at a conversational level and with a heavy accent. Reads and writes comparable to a child.

-doesn't like using magic often, if at all. Cure Wounds is basically the only spell he uses with any frequency

-”Hatchet” is kind of like a call sign more than a nickname but uses it even after leaving his merc group
-actually doesn't let most people know his real name
-has very high, ahem, respect for religious figures
-”Hatchet strikes me as a touchy-feely and emotional drunk too, but also the type to do weird dares with everyone watching. I think he'd give his friends big squeezy hugs and would make himself cry by telling them how much he loves and appreciates them. Also I imagine that absolutely everything is funny to him while drunk. I'd also like to think that his friends panic when he goes missing but they then step outside to see him chasing around birds while shouting his love for them from the rooftops.” - BroodyPrince (bless u)
