The VR Witch

Design created for Witchsona Week in 2019

The Virtual Reality Witch is the master of the adjacent world to ours, wrapped in data and mystique. Despite their technological mastery, they are more of a dream witch than  anything else, bringing forth the realm of their imagination from the mind to a virtual space. They can create anything they can imagine in full sensory detail and share that experience with others. The VR Witch is mostly a kindly witch, very passive and more of an observer than an actor. But break a rule in their virtual world, and you will pay the price!

Using their Wand-Staff, the VR Witch can manifest a virtual reality in the form of the Haptic Shroud. If one comes in contact with this shimmering shroud, they are thrust into the world it holds in its light-code. This artificial world is completely immersive, with sounds, visuals, sensations and more. It can be very hard to leave once you are inside, and those trapped too long in the shroud lose their bearings and forget that they are in a virtual world. Only the VR Witch has the power to dispel the shroud and end the simulation.

The VR Witch represents my desire to live out my dreams. I have very vivid, intense and sensorial dreams. I personally don't believe that VR technology is powerful enough to compete with my dreams, so it holds no appeal for me.
