Background

— Diane is an ambitious teenager who has often had to figure things out on her own. Her father, a widowed businessman, is absent most of the time and lets her take care of herself.

— She attends a private school for Catholic girls and hopes to be accepted into an elite university someday. Though rejection is among her worst fears, she had to deal with it in droves while applying for a summer job.

Personality

— She is very supportive and helpful, often working hard to the point of overloading herself. Sometimes, her friends need to remind her that it's okay to relax and ask for more recognition!

— Sometimes she's too by the book, but she can be emotionally swayed by others to bend the rules.

— Because her mother passed away when she was young, she isn't very in touch with Korean culture—but she's hoping that can change.
