Biography

Torrentheart is the deputy of TideClan, a clan located in the middle of a delta, alongside three other clans: PrairieClan, SpireClan, and OakClan. Torrentheart's life was shaped by her clan from a young age: the importance of friendship and family, her love of the water, and her grace. However, due to harsh treatment at a young age at the paws of her father, she is also a timid and anxious young cat, shaped as much by loss and heartache as she is her love and community.

Despite her struggles, Torrentheart is a dedicated and loyal molly at her core, and will stop at nothing to protect those she cares about. This is what drives her to be the best TideClan warrior, and deputy, as she can be, regardless of whatever challenges she comes across.

Personality

Torrentheart is a kind, gentle soul, that is very loyal and dedicated to her clan. She's a huge cat-pleaser, and does her best to help others; she became a deputy so that she would be better able to help her clanmates. Although her natural gentleness made it difficult for her at first to fight other cats, she is also extremely loyal and protective of her clanmates, and will defend them any-means-necessary.

+ Kind ; Torrentheart is, at her core, a caring and gentle cat. She does her best to do what's right, and to be a force of good in the world. She's open-minded and accepting of others.
+ Loyal ; Torrentheart is very devoted to her loved ones and her clan, and will do anything for those she's loyal to. Her dedication to helping others will not waver, and she will defend others to her dying breath.
+ Thoughtful ; Torrentheart is smart, and always takes great care to think through her words and actions. She listens to her clan's opinions before coming to decisions, and never jumps to conclusions. She's very clever in battle and strategy, and isn't easily tricked.
= Graceful ; She puts a lot of energy into appearing graceful and well-composed. She strives to appear respectable and confident, and therefore is very conscious of her appearance.
= Quiet ; She is a naturally quiet and rather introverted cat, and is very reserved. She is soft-spoken, and is often asked to speak up.
- Insecure ; Torrentheart is extremely self-conscious, and struggles with self-doubt. She's always scared of letting down her clan and the cats that are close to her. She worries about everything, including things that are really not of much concern.
- Pessimistic ; She struggles with worry and when left to her own defenses, her mind often goes to the worst possibility. She really has to work hard to appear confident for her clan, and in the presence of stress often falls to her despair.
- Indecisive ; Torrentheart frequently second-guesses herself, and never makes a quick decision. She is poor at making snap decisions, and time pressure makes her extremely stressed.

Appearance

Torrentheart is a silver bengal, taking after her father, a rogue with kittypet ancestry. She has a silvery, light grey pelt, lighter on the underside, with bright and poignant dark grey rosettes along her body. Her long tail and thick fur come from her mother, however. Her eyes are a light blue-grey.

History

Frostsong was born to TideClan, a beautiful, single kitten born to the leader Bubblestar. She was a beautiful molly, graceful and soft-spoken. She was an excellent swimmer, a good huntress, and an average warrior overall, more renowned for her beauty, grace, and kindness than skills as a warrior. Her life in TideClan wasn't bad, but it was unremarkable - until the young warrior found herself entranced by a tom from outside of the Clan's borders.

Drake was a charismatic and handsome tom, and he found himself taken by her pure, graceful beauty. She first met him along the clan's border when she'd slipped away from camp for a bit of time to herself, and both of them seemed to feel a surge of electricity when their eyes met, a pull, a connection. Drake introduced himself. Frostsong reciprocated. Soon, the two were meeting as much as they could.

Frostsong's fantasy all came crashing down, however, when she realized she'd become heavy with Drake's kits. Terrified of losing her clan's respect, Frostsong decided to take a mate in her clan. It wasn't difficult for the pretty molly, as she had no lack for suitors. She decided on Loonpelt, a warrior a season or so older than her who had long before begun to court her.

However, when she came time to kit, a half-moon earlier than TideClan's medicine cat had predicted, she only gave birth to a single kit, the other two alive but unborn. The kit herself was healthy, but rather than bear the white pelt of her mother, or Loonpelt's dark grey colors, she was a gorgeous spotted silver. There was no cat in TideClan that had such colors - it became clear to Loonpelt that she hadn't been faithful to him, and even worse, she hadn't been faithful to TideClan. Despite TideClan’s deep familial bonds, Loonpelt was enraged, his love for Frostsong becoming pure hatred. He lashed out at her at every opportunity, threatening to get her kicked from the Clan, calling her a traitor, and convincing her she and her kit were unwanted in their Clan. Frostsong, ashamed and scared, left TideClan behind with her kit, leaving her Clan and her life for Drake.

At first, things were okay, although Frostsong missed her life in her clan. Drake was a fine hunter, and doted on his young daughter, reveling in how much she looked like him with her spotted silver pelt. However, the more time she spent around only Drake, the more Frostsong realized that he wasn't quite the dashing tom she thought he was. He was quick to anger, even by his young kit, and extremely controlling. Still, Frostsong convinced herself that he was simply trying to take care of her...

Soon, however, Frostsong once again experienced the pangs of labor. Drake fretted over her, watching as she kitted with nervous anticipation. First came a snow-white kit, looking exactly like her mother. And then... the third kit was grey, but not the silver shade of his own spotted pelt. Suddenly, Drake's expression changed. He realized all at once what this meant.

"You cheated on me," he snarled, his voice low, dripped in venom. Frostsong shrunk.

"No, Drake, let me explain!" Frostsong cried weakly, breath still weak from her kitting. "I didn't want the clan to know, I didn't want-"

"You didn't want me to muddy your precious clan blood, did you?!" he spat, raising a paw to strike her. She cried, wincing at a blow that never came. "You'll take care of them on your own. I'll take care of Torrent, and that's it."

It was two days before Frostsong was able to will herself to her weary legs to attempt to hunt. She hid the kits as best she could, slipping away in an attempt to hunt. She was so focused on finding food to assure she could produce milk for her kits, she didn't even realize she'd crossed back into TideClan's territory. Suddenly, she froze, as the scent of a TideClan molly reached her nose - and she was close.

At first, Frostsong didn’t recognize the other molly’s scent, as they hadn’t been close, but when she appeared before her, she recognized Mapleshine. Mapleshine’s expression was only of kindness, and she offered Frostsong the robin she’d killed without hesitating. Over the next few days, each time Frostsong went to hunt, she found prey left for her. Eventually, Frostsong caught the other molly in the act, offering her thanks after thanks. "Please, let me at least introduce you to the other kits."

"You remember Torrentkit," Frostsong murmured, nudging the older kit softly, having led the TideClan queen to her nest hidden away on the cusp of Clan territories. "This is Silkkit, and this is Duskkit."

"They're beautiful," Mapleshine cooed, nuzzling the small ones. "Why did you leave the clan? You’re clearly starving out here…”

Finally, Frostsong broke into a sob, and finally, she told Mapleshine everything. How Drake had seduced her, handsome and confident. How she'd fallen pregnant, and, terrified, took Loonpelt as her mate to try to hide her mistake. How when Torrentkit was born, it was clear she’d been unfaithful. How Loonpelt lashed out at her and threatened her when they were alone, and how she left for Drake only to find that he was cruel and controlling, not the charming tom she'd fallen for, and how he'd made her hunt for herself, refusing to take care of Loonpelt's kits.

"You don't have to stay here," Mapleshine replied, worry for the other queen unhidden. "You should come back to TideClan. Not everyone feels how Loonpelt feels. We can help you take care of them, you don't have to stay with-"

"Me?" Drake appeared suddenly, his tone sour, harboring a snarl. "What does a clan cat still want with Frostsong's mistakes?"

“I would watch my tongue if I were you, Rogue. I was raised a Warrior, and I can assure you that things won’t go your way if you continue to anger me.” Mapleshine faced the bigger cat unflinchingly.

Drake scoffed. "Fine. I don't need her or her two brats. Take them and go."

"You don't understand - she's taking all of her kits. All three of them."

Drake took a step towards Torrentkit. "I'd like to see you try, molly."

Mapleshine launched herself at Drake, but he was prepared, shaking her off and slashing at her face. She winced, smelling blood as it dripped down her face, but she was still a TideClan cat, queen or not - she wouldn't be defeated that easily. She lunged at his face in return, digging into his eye with sheer fury, gouging it out completely. Drake hissed, falling to the ground in pain.

"Frostsong, go!" she mewled, grabbing Torrentkit and leading the way to TideClan. Frostsong, her other two kits secure in her mouth, didn't look back.

Back in TideClan, Frostsong settled back in surprisingly well, thanks to the rest of the Clan, and of course Mapleshine herself - the other molly chased Loonpelt away from the nursery whenever he attempted to draw near. Most of the Clan was welcoming to her return, although Mapleshine's sister, Bramblingcry, who had been nursery-bound herself with a litter of kits on the way, was not so happy with the cat she considered a traitor returning, and being accepted. Still, Torrentkit, Silkkit, and Duskkit grew up in the TideClan nursery, safe and sound within their delta territory.

A half-moon or so later, Bramblingcry had her kits - and just as quickly abandoned them to Mapleshine. She returned to the nursery as little as possible, leaving her sister to raise them in her stead. Mapleshine of course took to them as if they were her own, with help from her father, Thistleheart, and Frostsong. They were named Leopardkit, Bitternkit, and Emberkit - by Mapleshine and Thistleheart, not the queen who birthed them.

Torrentkit grew up a timid creature, much less outgoing than her rambunctious sister Silkkit or her curious brother Duskkit. She often hid behind her mother's legs, never venturing out of the nursery unless prompted by the queens. Because of the closeness between Mapleshine and Frostsong, Silkkit and Duskkit often played alongside Leopardkit and Bitternkit. The former of the kits had grown up quickly, immediately straying from the confines of the nursery. The young molly became a prankster, the terror of camp as soon as she could stumble around. Bitternkit followed alongside her frequently, and sometimes even Silkkit and Duskkit followed in her pawsteps.

One day, however, one of Leopardkit's pranks went too far, and while she was fleeing, she tripped over Torrentkit, who'd been urged out of the nursery by her mother. Torrentkit yelped, but could only run after Leopardkit from the angry feline she'd pranked. Unfortunately, the two kits were quickly outmatched by the older feline.

"I expected this from you, Leopardkit," they chastised, "but I'm ashamed of you for participating, Torrentkit." That small amount of displeasure was enough to bring Torrentkit to tears, and she sniffled, hiding behind Leopardkit, too distressed to defend herself.

"Now, wait!" Leopardkit argued, standing up to the older clan cat indignantly. "Torrentkit had nothing to do with this! It was my fault!" It was then that Torrentkit first saw Leopardkit as anything but something to be afraid of - and from that moment on, Torrentkit and Leopardkit became best friends, nearly becoming inseparable. The two were a good match, with bold Leopardkit drawing Torrent out of her shell, and the mellow Torrent calming some of Leopard's rashness. Frostsong's kits and Mapleshine's adopted brood became extremely close - although Emberkit only joined in rarely. It was Duskkit that first got through to her, the calm, curious kitten endearing even the closed-off Ember. Any one of the kits could be found in either Frostsong's nest or Mapleshine’s, listening to stories of warriors and queens and curled up at the paws of the mollies or Thistleheart.

Although Torrentkit didn't quite remember her time as a loner, she did have memories of Drake - an angry, controlling tom in the back of her head. She never wanted to see him again. Unfortunately, he wanted his kin back. He managed to sneak into the TideClan camp one night when Torrentkit was five moons old, and attempted to steal Torrentkit away. Leopardkit, however, alerted the clan to his presence, and he was chased off by Mapleshine, Frostsong, and a pawful of Warriors.

The timid Torrentkit was apprenticed slightly late, becoming an apprentice alongside her siblings who were born a half-moon after her. Torrentpaw was assigned to the molly Silverstride, Duskpaw to Barkbrindle, and Silkpaw to Sparrowtail. Torrentpaw's apprenticeship forced her and Leopardkit to be apart, although she tried her best to still spend time with her friend after training. She knew it would only be a moon until Leopardkit would be an apprentice, but she still missed her. At least Leopardkit was being entertained by her younger cousin Duckkit, the lone kit born to Mapleshine three moons after Leopardkit and her siblings were born.

A moon after her own apprenticeship, her friends finally joined her in the apprentice's den - Leopardpaw, Bitternpaw, and Emberpaw. Both Torrentpaw and Leopardpaw had issues as they began their warrior training. Torrentpaw struggled with her anxiety and timid nature; she hated hurting other cats, and was often frightened by the older apprentices. Silverstride, however, was patient, bit by bit working on Torrentpaw's confidence.

Leopardpaw, however, struggled to make things work with her own mentor at first, even practicing in secret on her own late at night. Torrentpaw worried about her, but not even she could dissuade her. Ultimately, this ended in Leopardpaw collapsing during training one day - she was fine after a visit to the medicine cat's den, but it led to a much-needed heart-to-heart between her and her mentor. After this, Leopard and Cuckooswipe seemed to bond, and soon after, Silverstride and Cuckooswipe began to coordinate their training sessions, allowing Torrentpaw and Leopardpaw to train together. Seeing how Torrentpaw fretted over her during her stay to the medicine cat den, Leopardpaw finally confided in Torrentpaw about what she called "the colors": Leopard had a strange ability that allowed her to see the sounds she heard as colors swirling through her vision, something that was oftentimes overwhelming for the young apprentice. Torrentpaw was amazed by this - adding that to a long list of reasons she considered Leopardpaw incredible.

As Silkpaw and Duskpaw continued to grow, Loonpelt once more tried to clamor for their attention. Silkpaw wanted nothing to do with him, hissing and spitting insults at him whenever he’d try to get her to spend time with him instead of her mother or Torrentpaw, but Duskpaw was more willing to make amends. Still, it was pretty clear to Duskpaw that Loonpelt was more interested in the idea of a son than his well-being, and while he didn’t cut Loonpelt out of his life completely like Silkpaw did, he still remained distant from Loonpelt.

Silkpaw soon became close friends with Pepperpaw and Jaypaw, drawing them into Torrentpaw's circle as well. Although she certainly wasn't as close to them as Silkpaw was, she did enjoy spending time with them. Jaypaw, especially, seemed keen to be friends with Silkpaw's older sister, although Torrentpaw never realized the younger molly had a crush. Jaypaw and Leopardpaw soon become rivals, frequently competing with each other in everything - nothing more so than the clueless Torrentpaw's affection.

Around Torrentpaw’s seventh moon, tragedy struck the Clan. While Torrentpaw accompanied Leopardpaw, her mentor Cuckooswipe, and Thistleheart to a training session in the river, Thistleheart witnessed a young SpireClan apprentice struggling in the water. Without a second thought, Thistleheart jumped to the cat's defense, dragging him from the water and back onto SpireClan's shores. While the apprentice and their mentor thanked him, however, a young and brash SpireClan warrior - Smokestripe - showed up, and mistook Thistleheart for an intruder. Without waiting for an explanation, he attacked Thistleheart, knocking him unconscious and sending him skidding into the lake. Neither Cuckooswipe or the apprentices could save him in time.

The loss of Thistleheart shook the entire clan to its core, but none more so than Leopardpaw. Torrentpaw was only barely better off than Leopard at the loss, as she’d always seen Thistleheart as a father figure. Torrentpaw became closed off and even more terrified by her training, while Leopardpaw was so distraught that she became the opposite of her normal jovial self, hiding away from anyone and everyone.

Silverstride didn’t give up on Torrentpaw, however, teaching Torrentpaw that despite her fears, despite the loss of dear Thistleheart, she could still be strong. With help from Duskpaw, Silverstride lifted Torrentpaw up, getting her over the toughest part of her apprenticeship. But Torrentpaw’s job wasn’t done - she knew that Leopardpaw would have to get back to her own training, too, and that staying hidden away in the apprentices’ den would get her nowhere. Cuckooswipe, Mapleshine, and Bitternkit had all failed to get Leopardpaw out of her slump, but Torrentpaw was more determined than ever. She would sit beside Leopardpaw and just let her cry, slowly but surely convincing her to return to herself. She showed Leopardpaw that if they were together, they could do anything - and due to Torrentpaw’s efforts, Leopard slowly became herself again.

Once Torrentpaw finally was able to coax Leopardpaw out of hiding, Silverstride took the time to show the pair of apprentices a personal secret - she showed them how the stars of Silverpelt shone on the surface of the water, teaching the apprentices about StarClan. It was under the light of the stars, swimming in the quiet waters beside her dear friend, that Torrentpaw knew: she loved Leopardpaw beyond the love of a friend, finally realizing that she'd had a crush on her for quite a long time.

Under guidance from the lovely Silverstride, who taught Torrentpaw so much more than battle skills, who taught her how to love herself, Torrentpaw's twelfth moon saw her earn her warrior name. She was called Torrentheart, for her kindness and loyalty. Her siblings also received their warrior names: Duskwhisker, for his neverending curiosity and skills in tracking, and Silksong - a suffix she requested in honor of her mother.

A few days later, on a patrol with Leopardpaw, Cuckooswipe, Pepperpaw, and Emberpaw's mentor, a tom named Eaglestorm, an eagle swooped down on the patrol, trying to make off with one of the cats. Leopardpaw, reacting quickly, lunged onto the bird's back and drove it into the ground, killing it. Leopardpaw didn't leave unscathed, but the medicine cat was quick to assure everyone that she would make a full recovery, and the eagle she killed fed the whole clan that night.

With Leopardpaw still recovering in the medicine den, Bitternpaw and Emberpaw received their warrior names the next moon - Bitternwing and Emberstream; Pepperpaw and Jaypaw received their names around the same time, Pepperstride and Jaytalon. Once Leopardpaw was fully recovered, she was quickly given her warrior name as well - Leopardflight, for the way she 'flew' through the air to bring that eagle to ground.

Torrentheart was overjoyed when, at just fourteen moons, she was given her first apprentice - a young tom named Pebblepaw. He was a curious young 'paw, but was timid at first, something that Torrentheart found it easy to relate to. She was patient as she began his training, remembering what Silverstride, and even Cuckooswipe and Thistleheart, had taught her when she was an apprentice. While training Pebblepaw, Torrentheart realized quickly that she vastly enjoyed teaching him, solidifying a love for mentoring in her almost immediately.

A short while after Torrentheart was first given her apprentice, Leopardflight's cousin, Duckpaw, was injured in a storm. Her front paw became twisted, the medicine cat regretfully informing her that it would never quite heal properly. Leopard worked closely with the medicine cat to help Duckpaw to heal, despite the apprentice's own lack of motivation. A few moons later, Leopardflight was given her first apprentice, Skunkpaw - and soon realized that she could do more to help Duckpaw than help her heal. If she could train Skunkpaw, she could train Duckpaw. Over the next few moons, Leopardflight recruited Torrentheart to help her train her young cousin, the three of them growing close together as they helped Duckpaw learn and heal. Ultimately, Duckpaw made a full recovery, and was given her warrior name - Duckstep.

However, despite receiving the name of a warrior, she astonished the clan by announcing that she wanted to follow in the path of a medicine cat, instead, becoming an apprentice to Pikespots.

Around his twelfth moon, Pebblepaw was welcomed as a full warrior, earning the name Pebblestep. Torrentheart couldn't be more proud of him, promising to still be there for him despite his new warrior status. Torrentheart would go on to train many more young apprentices of TideClan, including Toadpaw, a stocky light brown molly with a natural bobbed tail.

For some time, Torrentheart's life in TideClan went on more or less without incident, or at least with no more incidents than were expected of the life of a Warrior. A pack of feral dogs killed Sturgeonstar’s deputy, Fallowsnap; Leopard’s uncle, Breezestripe, was named deputy in his stead.

At Torrentheart's thirtieth moon, however, Jaytalon was killed in what was declared an accident, leaving Torrentheart, Silksong, Pepperstride, and Leopardflight to mourn her.

"She loved you, you know," Silksong told her sister, a bittersweet smile on her muzzle.

"I loved her, too," Torrentheart replied, but Silksong shook her head.

"No, Torrentheart - she was in love with you." Torrentheart could only blush, though she wished she could have heard the truth from Jaytalon herself.

One day some time after the dust had settled from Jaytalon's death, Torrentheart was woken up from dozing beside Leopardflight by the frantic steps of an approaching Mothpaw. The usually confident young molly, known for having a silver tongue and never being speechless, was beside herself with stress, something both Torrentheart and Leopardflight picked up on immediately. Leopardflight finally was able to get Mothpaw to explain what was wrong, and the moment they heard it, both were mortified. Mothpaw's mentor, a senior warrior by the name Gadwalltail, was trying to force young Mothpaw into his nest. Leopardflight told Mothpaw to go to the apprentice's den and stay there, and while Torrentheart was ready to find the tom and kill him where he stood, Leopardflight stopped her. Leopard feared that Mothpaw was not the first case of Gadwall's coercion, and wanted to find out the truth first - especially since she suspected someone had helped him cover his tracks.

That night, Torrentheart and Leopardflight went to confront him, Leopardflight wanting to take him before Sturgeonstar, but Gadwall attacked them. The meek, graceful Torrentheart was nowhere to be seen, attacking Gadwalltail with the fury of LionClan. They left him bleeding into the grass. When he was found the next day by other clanmates, he claimed that it was Torrentheart and Leopardflight that had attacked him - but no one believed him. Ultimately, he died of his infected wounds.

In Torrentheart's thirty-first moon, Sturgeonstar announced he would be retiring; unfortunately, the same night as he took his leave to the Elder's den, his illness snuffed out his final life. Breezestripe became Breezestar, electing ________ as his deputy. Shortly afterwards, however, ____ was found dead, and Breezestar appointed the experienced Eaglestorm as his deputy.

Bitternwing did not return to camp one night, prompting Leopardflight to seek him out. She found him stuck in a twoleg snare trap by his tail, and out of fear of nighttime predators, the two were forced to chew through the tom's tail to free him. Leopardflight revealed to Torrentheart later that he had been hunting with Bramblingcry, who was supposed to have gone for help, but she had never said anything when she'd returned to camp.

Shocking TideClan one day, Breezestar was found dead and maimed on the PrairieClan border. Eaglestorm claimed that PrairieClan was to blame, that Breezestar's murder was in retaliation for several murdered PrairieClan cats that the other Clan accused TideClan of. Eaglestorm became Eaglestar, and appointed Bramblingcry as his deputy, despite the fact that she had never before trained an apprentice.

At first, except for his unconventional choice in deputy, Eaglestar’s reign seemed to be a smooth one. Soon, however, he began to change things bit by bit. He clearly favored some cats over others, and began enforcing guards around the territory to watch their own clanmates. Slowly and surely, the camp became a hostile place, the changes minor enough that it was hard to see them as they happened.

Soon after Eaglestar’s rise to power, Duskwhisker suffered an injury to his eye while chasing a rogue away from clan territory. He’d been seeing signs of rogues for some time, but Eaglestar continued to blow him off. He took to investigating on his own, ultimately following some strange scents of fox mingled with cat to a meeting of the rogues. Before he could get a good look at any of them, they noticed his presence and set upon him. He fought bravely, but was outnumbered, and a harsh attack to his eyes left him at a disadvantage. Luckily, he was able to escape and flee, bleeding and terrified, but with his life. Halfway back to camp, he comes across Emberstream, who’d gone to look for him, and she takes him right to Pikespots.

Despite Pikespots and Duckstep doing all they can, the injury to Duskwhisker’s eyes beame infected, and never healed completely. This left him partially blind when fully recovered, only able to see dark shapes and hints of movement. Although he was saddened by his injury, he knew he was still a worthy warrior - Eaglestar and Loonpelt, however, forced him to the elders’ den; they claimed it was for his own safety, but it was disheartening for Duskwhisker.

Not long after, Eaglestar began preparing for war with PrairieClan, and with it came the most dramatic changes yet. Eaglestar began to accuse many cats of having "divided loyalties," and set up cruel prison dens for any cats whose loyalty he questioned. Half-clan cats, prior rogues or kittypets that had joined the clan, and even a handful of full-clan cats were forced into these prison dens. Torrentheart was forced to flee alongside the aging Frostsong, and a pawful of other half-clan cats. Mapleshine helped them to escape, and was forced into the prisons herself by Bramblingcry.

Although Torrentheart was terrified for being forced to leave her home, she knew she was lucky to have escaped it. The cats that had escaped remained close together, praying to StarClan that they would be able to return home soon.

Back in camp, those that were imprisoned were being starved and denied care from the medicine cat, and Eaglestar’s plans for war loomed on the horizon. Cats were forced to devote almost all their time to preparing, and those that didn’t openly support Eaglestar were bullied by those who did. Duskwhisker and Silksong, among others, did their best to slip food and herbs to the cats in the prison dens, but they could only do so much.

After many moons of Eaglestar’s horrible reign, Leopardflight left camp to follow up on her suspicions surrounding Eaglestar and all of the recent deaths leading up to his leadership. She no longer believed the story that PrairieClan was responsible for Breezestar’s deaths, and was determined to uncover the truth. However, as she approached the PrairieClan border, she was attacked by her own half-sister, Ivyflower, who remained loyal to her father, Eaglestar. The two fought viciously, but ultimately Leopardflight was able to kill her, though not without significant injuries. Luckily, an PrairieClan patrol found her, and seeing her current state, took her to their medicine cat. It was there that she pieced everything together, and knew for sure - the recent turmoil along the Prairie-Tide border had been entirely Eaglestar's doing. The PrairieClan murders, Breezestar's gruesome demise, Ivyflower's attack, and more had all been organized or outright accomplished by Eaglestar in a grab for power he thought he deserved.

Once she was recovered, Leopardflight led a patrol of PrairieClan cats toward TideClan territory to retake TideClan from Eaglestar’s treachery - but first, she sought out those that had escaped into exile. Torrentheart was beyond happy to see that Leopardflight was safe, and was absolutely ready to strike Eaglestar down. When they were nearly upon the camp, a small group of warriors who'd been sneaking out in hopes of finding Leopardflight filled them in on what was happening back at camp. Eaglestar had claimed that Leopardflight's body had been found mangled on the PrairieClan border, just like Breezestar's, using the molly's "death" to spark even more tension between TideClan and PrairieClan.

As a storm rolled in, the group reached the TideClan camp, interrupting Eaglestar announcing a war against PrairieClan. Leopardflight told the clan everything, explaining that PrairieClan hadn't been responsible for her death or her uncle's. The clan erupted into a civil war, with the few cats who remained loyal to Eaglestar fighting against the rest of the clan and Leopard's PrairieClan reinforcements.

Silksong and Bitternwing rushed to free the imprisoned TideClanners, and as soon as the prison dens were down, Torrentheart rushed to get the weaker cats to safety. Once she was sure that those too weak to fight were out of harm's way, she launched herself back into the fray of the battle, tearing into anyone cruel enough to remain loyal to Eaglestorm with renewed fury.

A strike of lightning from the storm had set the territory ablaze, separating Leopardflight from Torrentheart's view; but when she found her beloved's pelt amid the chaos, she saw her struggling in battle with her own mother. Eaglestorm had already fled, taking a terrified Emberstream along with him. As another loyalist tried to grab at Torrentheart's back, she once again lost sight of Leopardflight, where across camp, Mapleshine had dragged Bramblingcry off of Leopard, freeing Leopardflight to go after Eaglestar.

As Leopardflight chased down Eaglestar, the battle continued to rage in the camp, but as the rain began to fall and put out the raging flames, so too did the rage of battle. Eaglestar's followers were outnumbered and outmatched by those who fought against their tyranny, chased into exile by their former clanmates. Finally, the cats could rest - but not Torrentheart. She couldn't leave Leopardflight alone with Emberstream and Eaglestar, still unsure how involved Eaglestorm's former apprentice had been in his wretched plots, but as she began to leave camp alone to seek out her beloved, she was joined by Bitternwing, Silksong, Duskwhisker, Pepperstride, and Pebblestep.

When they finally found Leopardflight, they were relieved to see that Eaglestorm was dead, and found Leopardflight and Emberstream collapsed together. The rain had since put out the flames, but it was clear both mollies were seriously injured. Torrentheart rushed to Leopardflight's side, supporting her with help from Pepperstride, while Bitternwing and Duskwhisker supported Emberstream. Silksong led the group back to the war- and storm-torn camp, Leopardflight and the rest of the injured cats delivered safely to the medicine cat's den.

While Torrentheart herself had only minor injuries, she stayed at Leopardflight's side; the calico was badly injured from not only her fight with Eaglestorm, but with Ivyflower and Bramblingcry before him. Most worrisome were her eyes, which had been burned by embers in her fight against Eaglestorm. Thankfully, the medicine cat was hopeful that Leopardflight's vision would return, and that all of the cats injured in the battle and from the prison dens would soon recover.

With Eaglestar dead - having never been given nine lives by StarClan - and Bramblingcry exiled, TideClan now faced a new conundrum - who would lead them? Duskstep, however, soon found a sign - a flower growing in the dust of the leader's den, spotted in orange and black just like Leopardflight's spotted pelt. The medicine cat took the flower to Leopardflight, who at first denied it was a sign for her, thinking StarClan wouldn't want her as a leader. Torrentheart said nothing, simply rolling her eyes at the notion that anyone might be more fit to lead than her beloved Leopardflight - an eye roll that was missed by Leopardflight herself, due to the herb poultice covering her eyes at the time.

However, the sky above them was soon filled with beautiful waves of color, dancing through the stars just like the colors Leopardflight had always described to Torrentheart. Bitternwing dragged his sister out, tore the herbs from her eyes, and made her look - and even the stubborn Leopardflight could not deny that this message was meant for her alone.

Leopardflight was not yet strong enough to leave to receive her nine lives, ordered to remain in the medicine den. Although the medicine cat had to chase out plenty of Leopardflight's visitors - Bitternwing, Silksong, Mapleshine, Frostsong, Duskwhisker, Pepperstride, and more all among them - no one had the heart to ask Torrentheart to leave her side. She didn't leave for nearly anything as Leopardflight healed, and it was there in the medicine den that Leopardflight finally confessed that she had long since fallen for the silver-spotted molly. Torrentheart couldn't believe her ears, quickly admitting her long-held love for Leopardflight as well, saying she never believed that Leopardflight could have loved her back.

When Leopardflight was finally well enough to make the journey to the SACRED WHATEVER, Torrentheart and Willowflight joined her and Duskstep as an escort, in case any trouble arose on the journey. Leopard gained her nine lives without any issues, and was greeted by her dear Torrentheart as 'Leopardstar' for the first time.

When they reached TideClan at long last, Leopardflight officially declared Torrentheart her deputy, and fulfilled the overdue apprentice and warrior ceremonies of the cats who had been unfairly imprisoned, including Torrentheart’s former apprentice, Toadpaw - who gained the name Toadbounce.

Under Leopardstar's new leadership, things eventually returned to normalcy for TideClan. Torrentheart was hopeful for the new era, not the least of it joy at finally having Leopardstar as her mate.
