An elven sun god. He's married to the moon god, Lafael. Their union was officiated by the nature god Chalyrr. He and Lafael have been missing for centuries now.
Shalaryn is Merahil's younger brother, and for the first part of his life, he and his brother were inseparable. When he met Lafael, however, the two fell in love and eventually chose to marry...Merahil was not okay with this and saw it as Shalaryn abandoning him. When Merahil went over the deep end, he first tried to kill the god of death, was subsequently slain himself...or so the gods thought. Shalaryn and Lafael were weakened and imprisoned for centuries through Merahil's machinations, and were eventually rescued by a party including Kaz and Theron, two elves from the royal family. They've returned to leading the pantheon and raising a new star god that formed from Merahil's true death.
