♦ Backstory: Ray was born in a religious family with her little sister Vera. Their parents were pretty strict with everything and always wished for their daughters to be "perfect" and believers too. Ray was never in the same mindset as them at all, and didn't believe in anything but in their own things. They were the disobedient and stubborn one who would defy parents on everything, leading them to constantly punishing them ,unlike Vera, who was calmer and more obedient. Ray was a fearless child who loved to challenge others. They were born as a girl, but suffered from gender dysphoria at a young age until they became a teenager. They never felt themselves being a girl, or a boy either, but they did feel more comfortable acting like a boy at a certain point, having the same interests, and hanging with them at school. Ray's parents never accepted it, telling them that they were a girl anyway and forced them to act like one, dress like one etc. They did think that their daughter had a mental illness and made them go to therapy. The therapist ended up officially diagnosing Ray with gender dysphoria, and after hearing that, the parents never scheduled another appointment with them and called them crazy.
Ray was very close and protective of their little sister Vera. Both would play a lot together and Ray who hardly let other kids approach their sister too much before they could make sure they didn't have bad intentions. They would do anything for her to be happy, even protecting her from their own parents. They grew up along with two childhood friends, Faye and Axl. They were the only two people Ray felt completely easy with and able to be themselves fully. They would never judge them for their preferences and such. Other kids at school weren't tender with Ray, trying to bully the little squid and mock them for being "strange" and not blending in with others. Ray did feel different from others, but had no desire of ressembling anybody else. They just wanted to be themselves, and be accepted as it. They didn't care if people didn't want to be friends with them ,  not seeking for their friendship or attention.
As years  passed, at around age 12, Ray felt more and more oppressed in the family house. Their mother kept wanting to force them to act like a girl, and was totally inconsiderate towards their child's feelings, calling Ray a freak, and ill. The blue inkling would contest their authority more, until the day the mother threatened to send them in a camp. At some points after the two of them ended up on a huge fight, throwing things at each other, Ray decided to take their little sister and run away from their house to go to their aunt's that lived away in Inkopolis Plaza. They kept going to school, but as soon as Ray was able to work, they found little jobs here and there, to make enough money move in their own place with the sister. Vera did ask why Ray took her away with them, to what they answered they wanted to protect her from their devious parents, sensing that they had no good intentions. "I didn't want to to leave you alone with these monsters." From that moment, the two sisters were even more fusional, and the big sister always took great care of their younger sister.

Years later, when Ray was 17, they and Vera moved into Inkopolis Square along with many other inklings, progressively leaving the Plaza. They formed a team with their sister, Faye, and Axl, to play in ranked for fun. They were not really aiming at doing amazing scores, but more like having fun all together.  This is around the same period of time where Neva came to Inkopolis, and triggered curiosity among inklings, including Ray, who would often see her from afar,or in games, showing a great sense of leadership, determination, and skills. Which Ray admired, and made them want to get to know her, only they were a little shy and awkward thinking about it. So they mostly stayed from a distance, until their friends noticed it and encouraged them to go and talk to the pink octoling. Ray was also friend with Faye's cousin, Marco, who at the time was playing in the basketball club with Neva, so he offered to introduce them. Ray accepted, being nervous, and one time when they were all sitting at a table having drinks and snacks, Marco called Neva to join them, so they could meet with Ray. The octoling hesitated a little, being reserved, but eventually accepted, and engaged into a conversation with Ray, despite not knowing much of inklish yet, and not talking much, the inkling enjoyed chatting with her. Little by little, they started to develop a crush on Neva.  They admired her skills, her beauty, and everything that she radiated, but never wanted to embarrass her with it so never admitted it openly.
Later on, a clash happened between Axl and Phil, Axl being jealous of him for dating Faye, whom he was still in love with, and started trash talking octolings. When Neva heard it, she lost patience, grabbed Axl, shoved him on the ground and locked him with her arms and legs so he couldn't move. This was the time where she lost control of herself. Vera was so shocked about the event that she decided to leave the team they had with Ray and Faye. Eventually, they decided to disband completely, as Axl himself needed some time to cool off, and Vera wanting to stay away from him. They stayed friends and Ray and their two childhood friends kept hanging nonetheless.

A few weeks later, Marco met Ray to offer her to form another team with him and Neva. The idea was from the octoling, and they were looking for two other members. Ray was surprised, but very happy that he offered. Despite being nervous and stressed because theyre weren't sure if they were skilled enough, they accepted immediately. Marco then asked Oppa, an orange inkling whom he had met recently, to join as well, as he got to see her sniping skills in battles before. All together, their formed team Tenta Majesty, Neva being the leader. The team practiced and participated in a ranked battle tournament, climbing the ladders of victories, and ended being top 1. Proud of themselves, they cheered each other, and hanged together. At this point, Ray was in love with Neva, and it was pretty obvious to everyone, but Neva, being oblivious. They did know that her and Marco were best friends, but didn't know that they were starting to develop feelings for each other. A few weeks later, Ray and Oppa learned that they got together, and it actually made Ray upset and heartbroken. They and Oppa were mostly upset that Marco and Neva kept it to themselves and never said anything about it, and that secrets were being kept. The team ended up disbanding, and they distanced each other, as the couple was about to move in together and start their life together.
Ray was hurt, and it took them awhile to finally accept to frequent friends again. During that time, they got closer to Oppa as both of them were coping and helping each other, they shared a special bond, and Ray ended up having feelings for her. Oppa did as well, and finally the two got together and were happy.

Nowadays, the ex members of Tenta Majesty are back to being friends and hanging time to time, as no more grudges were being held. Ray and Oppa moved in together as well.

♦ Curiosities:
- Ray is non-binary, but more of a tomboy than a girly girl. They dislike being called by their full name "Rayna" which they consider too "girly". "Ray' is gender neutral name. They don't consider themselves a girl or a boy either, but just themselves entirely.
- When they move in their own place with their sister, Vera used to cook for Ray a lot. Ray is a sucker for their sister's delicious cooking.
- When Ray was younger, they were being mocked by girls for hanging around boys more and acting like them, and having no girl friends. Soon enough, people were suspicious of them being attracted to girls. Ray never hid it, although never officially admitting it either, until they became older.
- They love 90's style and retro video games.
- They ALWAYS wears a hat/cap, feeling "naked" without it which embarasses them, they'll make a drama.
